The implementation strategy should be congruent with the objective of the project and the company organization and culture. The plan should be presented in a clear and succinct manner so that all those involved can follow it and progress against the plan can be monitored.

Soil burial is widely used as the method of testing susceptibility to degradation. It closely mimics the conditions of waste disposal used for plastics but it is often difficult to reproduce results obtained because of absence of control over either the climate at the test site or the variety of micro-organisms involved in the degradation. Soil burial is thus used to provide qualitative indications of biodegradability, with more controlled laboratory work with cultured micro-organisms being used to obtain more quantitative detail. 

In summary, the anaerobic degradation of alkanoic acids may truly be described as ubiquitous and is carried out by organisms with widely different taxonomic affinity both in pure culture and in syntrophic associations. 

ATCC issues Certificates of Analysis with cultures. Although ATCC Certificate of Analysis do not meet the specific requirements of ISO Guide 31, they do show that the biological RM culture has been authenticated and/or specific characteristics have been verified. Each ATCC Certificate of Analysis is lot-specific and includes expiration dates, the specific seeds used for propagation, and selected biochemical and morphological characteristics that are indicative of the culture. ATCC also aims to provide a Product Sheet for each microbial culture, with instructions for propagation, special features of the organism, and any imusual observations or properties. 

Treatment Exit-site infections may be treated immediately with empiric coverage, or treatment may be delayed until cultures return. Empiric treatment of catheter-related infections should cover S. aureus. Coverage for P. aeruginosa should also be included if the patient has a history of infections with this organism.49 Cultures and sensitivity testing are particularly important in tailoring antibiotic therapy for catheter-related infections to ensure eradication of the organism and prevent recurrence or related peritonitis. 

A variety of commercial kits and automated systems are available to test the abilities of bacteria to assimilate, ferment, decarboxylate, or cleave selected organic compounds.46 Their reliability for species identification is usually greater with cultures from clinical samples, where a limited number of bacteria are commonly encountered, and less with environmental soil and water samples, where a great many uncommon or previously unidentified species not in the database are likely to be present.29,45 Additional tests beyond those found in the commercial kits may be necessary for example, the hydrolysis of various nitriles and amides is useful for identifying Rhodococcus spp.47 Some commercial kits for clinical use feature antimicrobial susceptibility testing.21... 

There is a simpler explanation. The evolutionary path that leads to humans has produced organisms with profoundly plastic, adaptable brains/minds and ways of living. Humans have created societies, and invented technologies and cultures. We, the inheritors of not merely the genes, but also the cultures and technologies of our forebears, are profoundly shaped by them in ways that make our future as individuals, societies, and species, radically unpredictable. In short, the biological nature of being human enables us to create individual lives and collective societies whose futures lie at least in part in our own hands.

Although the company has very limited safety resources onsite, management perceives safety as added value and hires individuals from organizations with a good safety culture. The management commitment to safety is clearly evident in each aspect of the safety program.
