Organization implementation

This model is unique in its description of what constitutes a management system, and its effort to address the planning, organizing, implementing, and control aspects of process safety management systems.

Certification is a procedure by which a third party gives written assurance that a product, process, or service conforms to specified requirements. Certification focuses on quality management and technical competence is not specifically addressed. Laboratories and organizations implementing, for example, the ISO 9000 family or OECD GLP may be certified under these standards. 

The best way to assure that all automated systems used for GxP activities are developed, validated, used and maintained in line with GxP regulations and that the support organization implements and follows a GxP-compliant QA system is to have a validation committee. This could be a separate committee dedicated to the validation of automated systems or combined with the central validation committee that often already exists, particularly at manufacturing sites. ICAO publishes several documents to help aviation organizations implement a safety management system. 

One of the goals of any public official should be to understand the circumstances from which claims for money damages arise and what proactive steps can be taken to prevent individual and business losses due to the actions of public agencies in a disaster or emergency. The strategy should be to plan, organize, implement, and control public programs and activities in such a manner as to avoid losses. 

Normal fire protection practices and standards recommend fire pumps be tested annually to determine performance levels. Common practice in the process industries is to trend the flow performance to prepare predictive maintenance and replacement forecasts. Such forecasts can predict poor pump performance and help maintenance organizations implement corrective actions before this occurs. Typically a variance of 5% or more from the rated pump curve warrants further investigation and improvement (NFPA 25, Chapter 8, and Appendix C). 

Some organizations implement programs in which conducting observations is a job requirement. The problem with this approach is that it can increase the number of forms that are completed as a paperwork exercise without actual observations. 

As the organization implements occupational safety measures, it must establish timelines for completing the associated tasks. This portion of the occupational safety implementation process should consider the abilities of staff members and the time that is realistically necessary to complete projects. The amount of preparation required to implement occupational safety measures may limit their immediate achievability. If the occupational safety measure bears no capital cost, such as policy and procedural changes, or can be incorporated into a new project, the countermeasure can often be implemented immediately. When countermeasures require advance budgeting or coordination with outside vendors, implementation may be delayed.

Projects and processes involve working with multiple relationships, inside and outside each team. At the same time, processes are potentially continuous and projects are start and finish dated by nature. All the activities need coordination in order to achieve the primary objectives. In this context, risks take different forms, such as dismptions, reductions in service or performance levels and delays. It is critical that each organization implements an integrated assessment of risks threatening the performance of the entire network and projects and processes. 

The leadership team may or may not be sensitive to these influences and allow the creation of conditions that effect the safety of employees, the environment, and the overall organization. Implementing a safety system helps to provide a structure that monitors a full range of activities from risk assessment, hazard identification, and correction tracking to develop consistent rules, procedures, and safe work practices.
