One means of gathering data for monitor indicators is patient safety culture questionnaires. We have developed a patient safety culture questionnaire, TUKU, that measures employees perceptions of the organisational functions depicted in Table 9.4 as well as employees psychological states, such as sense of control and worry about patient safety (Reiman et al. 2013). In one hospital, the results of the questionnaire were compared with the ratio of patient safety incidents at the hospital s 40 units 16 months after the safety culture questionnaire was administered. The results, which must be treated with caution due to the small sample size, indicated that perceptions of work process management , work conditions management .

To allow objectivity of the findings, ElA s are usually carried out by independent specialists or organisations. It will involve not only scientific experts, but also require consultation with official and representative bodies such as the government ministries for the environment, fisheries, food, agriculture, and local water authorities. Maintenance departments provide support to other functions of manufactuting management. Some of the corporate staff activities that are of concern to the plant maintenance organisation are iadustrial relations, finance, material control, services, and manufactuting engineering.

Abstract In most of the world s watercourses, dramatic modifications have occurred as a consequence of intensive use by human societies. The simplification of the channel network and the alteration of water fluxes have an impact upon the capacity of fluvial systems to recover from disturbances, because of their irreversible consequences. However, human impacts on river hydrology, such as those that derive from regulating their flow or by affecting their channel geomorphology, affect the functional organisation of streams, as well as the ecosystem services that derive from them, and lead to the simplification and impoverishment of these ecosystems.
