Offer-side liquidity

Many Participants in the European auto and consumer loan ABS markets tend to be buy-and-hold investors, and so offer-side liquidity in the second-... [Pg.439]

SelF-siipported cylindrical membranes For liquid separations are made From 250 jlrn up to 6 rnrn, but there is no obvious limit to Future oFFerings. Membrane devices For liquids are almost alvvws tube-side Feed, with tw o major exceptions at the extremes oF porositv. High-pressure RO is almost always shell-side Feed, and one supplier oF verv lovv -pressiire MF also rims with shell-side Feed. [Pg.2026]

Coils should be eonsidered only if jaeketing alone does not provide a suffieient heat transfer area, if jaeket pressure exeeeds 150 psig, or if high-temperature vaeuum proeessing is required. The eoil offers the advantage of a higher overall film eoeffieient beeause of thinner walls with the latter eonditions, but the wall resistanee may not be signifieant eompared to that on the proeess side (e.g., with a viseous liquid). [Pg.630]

Turning from chemical exchange to nuclear relaxation time measurements, the field of NMR offers many good examples of chemical information from T, measurements. Recall from Fig. 4-7 that Ti is reciprocally related to Tc, the correlation time, for high-frequency relaxation modes. For small- to medium-size molecules in the liquid phase, T, lies to the left side of the minimum in Fig. 4-7. A larger value of T, is, therefore, associated with a smaller Tc, hence, with a more rapid rate of molecular motion. It is possible to measure Ti for individual carbon atoms in a molecule, and such results provide detailed information on the local motion of atoms or groups of atoms. Levy and Nelson " have reviewed these observations. A few examples are shown here. T, values (in seconds) are noted for individual carbon atoms. [Pg.175]

Peivaporation is a relatively new process that has elements in common with reverse osmosis and gas separation. In peivaporation, a liquid mixture contacts one side of a membrane, and the driving force for the process is low vapour pressure on the permeate side of the membrane generated by cooling and condensing the permeate vapour. The attraction of peivaporation is that the separation obtained is proportional to the rate of permeation of the components of the liquid mixture through the selective membrane. Therefore, peivaporation offers the possibility of separating closely boiling mixtures or azeotropes that are difficult to separate by distillation... [Pg.355]

On the LC/MS side, the offerings are limited. Other than certain prototype instrumentation26 only Waters offered with its MUX technology a type of parallel mass spectrometer ion interface. The Waters MUX technology does not truly operate in parallel, but multiplexes among combinations of four or eight liquid streams. Combined with Waters LockSpray technology even an additional fifth or ninth channel to introduce a reference mass was used. [Pg.113]

No commercial process is offered at this time for side chain alkylation of toluene with methanol for styrene and ethylbenzene production. In the literature the reaction is typically carried out at toluene to methanol molar ratios from 1.0 7.5 to 5 1 from 350 to 450 °C at atmospheric pressures. In some cases inert gas is introduced to assist vaporizing the liquid feed. In other cases H2 is co-fed to improve activity, selectivity and stability. Exelus recently claimed 80% yields in their ExSyM process at full methanol conversion using a 9 4 toluene methanol feed ratio at 400-425 °C and latm (101 kPa) in a bench-scale operation. This performance appears to be... [Pg.515]

Polymers that have been already found to offer NLO behavior include polydiacetylenes and a number of polymers with liquid crystal side chains. Polymers are also employed as carriers of materials, which themselves are NLO materials. Applications include communication devices, routing components, and optical switches. [Pg.591]

It thus appears that the enantioselectivity of CALB for this reaction in the solid/ gas bioreactor is similar to that in an organic liquid medium. Solid/gas biocatalysis therefore offers important potential for production of enantiomerically pure compounds, provided that these transformations involve components having a degree of volatility. Furthermore, as the addition of solvents is avoided in this system, separation and purification during downstream processing are simplified, and side reactions are suppressed. [Pg.264]

Both Mitsubishi and Mitsui TLEs differ drastically from other designs. Mitsubishi offers a TLE with an integral steam dmm and cyclone for vapor—liquid separation. The pyrolysis gas flows in the shell side, and is claimed to accomplish the decoking of the furnace and the transferline exchanger in one operation. The Mitsui quench cooler uses three concentric tubes as the tube element, and requires steam—air decoking to clean the TLE (58,59). [Pg.438]

Attaching two different and incompatible chains, one an Rp-chain and at the opposite side an alkyl chain or any other chain which is incompatible with the Rp-chain (such as the carbosilane chain Rsi in compounds 188—190, Figs. 62-64) offers the possibility of creating liquid crystalline honeycombs with cells of different composition. If projected on a Euclidian plane, such a structure can be described as tiling by two or even more different color tiles (multi-color tilings) [42],... [Pg.75]

Membrane distillation is considered a promising separation method applicable primarily in environmental technologies. In membrane distillation a microporous and hydrophobic membrane separates aqueous solutions at different temperatures and compositions, as shown in Figure 9. The temperature difference existing across the membrane results in a vapor pressure difference. The molecules are transported through the pores of the membrane from the high-vapor-pressure side to the low-vapor-pressure side. At least one side of the membrane remains in contact with the liquid phase. Benefits offered by membrane distillation include (202) ... [Pg.290]
