You must report the location of the POTW in Section 1 in Part II of Form R. Do not report any information about the on-site treatment plant in this section. You are not required to report the location of the off-site, privately owned recovery firm or provide any information concerning off-site recovery because recycling or reuse of toxic chemicals is exempt from reporting. [Pg.36]

Recycling (or reuse) refers to the use (or reuse) of materials that would otherwise be disposed of or treated as a waste product. A good example is a rechargeable battery. The location of the reinjection wells with respect to the recovery well is also an important consideration. Locating the wells too closely can create counterproductive effects. Locating the reinjection wells too far away from the recovery well may significantly reduce the desired effect or eliminate the benefits altogether. If the latter is the case, dead spots may result and may cause short-circuiting of the LNAPL pool hydrocarbon plume. Once this happens, off-site migration of the plume is possible.
