L. I. Belen kii and N. D. Kruchkovskaya have updated their survey of the literature of heterocyclic review articles. This is the fourth installment in this series previous overviews of heterocyclic reviews appeared in Volumes 7 (literature up to 1965), 25 (literature 1966-1978) by S. M. Weeds and P. M. Jones with your editor, and Volume 44 (literature 1979-1987) by L. I. Belen kii. A particular feature of this overview is its coverage of the Russian language literature as well as Western sources. [Pg.369]

There are a number of other sources of information available about the synthesis of indoles. We do not discuss in detail the cases of tautomerism of heterocycles embedded in supramolecular structures, such as crown ethers, cryptands, and heterophanes, because such tautomerism is similar in most aspects to that displayed by the analogous monocyclic heterocycles.
