Network committee

A further approach to designing the network topology is to construct a complex network from several single network modules. In a network committee, several networks are trained together to form a committee (Perrone, 1994). A committee or jury decision, given by a weighted combination of the predictions of the members, can yield better... [Pg.90]

Those agents showing significant in vivo activity are presented to the NCI Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis (DCTD) Decision Network Committee (DNC), and, if approved by the DNC, the agent is entered into preclinical and clinical development. The Decision Network Process divides the preclinical drug development process into stages, as described below. [Pg.30]

But the developments in the UK were ad hoc and rather disorganised, and this was recognised by the Computer Board which, in 1973, set up a networking committee under the chairmanship of Prof. M. (Mike) Wells Leeds University and among whose members were Mervyn Williams (formerly of the Post Office), Roland Rosner (RAL), and Chris Morris (Bristol University). They reported to the Computer Board in 1974, recommending that a national network be set up and that its development be supervised by a six-person Joint Network Team (JNT). Although the report was accepted, these developments did not come about until 1979, and the proposed network, eventually called JANET (Joint Academic Network), did not come into full service until 1 April 1984. [Pg.300]

Member states can nominate one expert and an alternative to each committee. These in effect come from the national regulatory bodies, which they also represent. The committees may additionally co-opt up to five other members. The committees can draw on the expertise of some 3500 scientists using a network that extends through the national regulatory bodies, and so form further advisory committees and working groups as appropriate. [Pg.30]

Zeolites are aluminosilicates characterized by a network of silicon and aluminum tetrahedra with the general formula Mx(A102)x(Si02)Y. The M are cations that are necessary to balance the formal negative charge on the aluminum atoms. The tetrahedra are linked to form repeating cavities or channels of well-defined size and shape. Materials with porous structures similar to zeolites but with other atoms in the framework (P, V, Ti, etc.), as a class are referred to as zeotypes. The structure committee of the International Zeolite Association (IZA http //www.iza-online.org/) has assigned, as of July 1st 2007, 176 framework codes (three capital letters) to these materials. These mnemonic codes do not depend on the composition (i.e. the distribution of different atom types) but only describe the three-dimensional labyrinth of framework atoms. [Pg.226]

Within the frame of the EMEA, members of the CPMP and CVMP act independently of their nominating member state. The scientific committees are aided by a network of about 2300 European experts, nominated by the appropriate national authorities of the member states on the basis of proven experienee in the assessment of medicinal products. Experts may serve on working parties or expert groups of the CPMP or CVMP. [Pg.65]

The normalization committees and operators are satisfied with the low level of harm on railway networks. Significant failures are a precondition of innovation. [Pg.102]

For non-SI traceable quantities the strategy for introducing traceability has to be different. This concerns a large number of analytes for which no defined molecular structure can be assigned, such as for many enzymes, proteo-homones, tumor markers and cardiac markers. The first and most important step must be the definition of the quantity before it is possible to establish reference systems (reference procedures, materials and reference network laboratories). Whenever possible, a global consensus on the definition of the measurand should be achieved. Consequently, definition of the measurand and establishment of reference systems is the objective of several working groups and committees of the Scientific Division of IFCC. [Pg.156]

For the majority of the methods, the necessary quality assurance is provided by a combination of simple and robust sampling techniques with well-described sampling equipment, and the use of synthetic control samples for the chemical analyses. The methods defined in EMEP4 are harmonized whenever possible with recommendations in other networks such as WMO/GAW5 and standardization organizations such as the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). [Pg.401]
