Monthly meetings

One thing was certain Von Schnitzler was the cause of his present plight. Instead of occasional meetings at Frankfurt, regular monthly meetings were now held at Berlin Northwest 7.

Initial subcommittees formed included laboratory/ surveillance/infection control, community response plans, hospital plans, communications, pharmacy, and equipment/training. Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry. (TAPPI). A professional group of scientists devoted to the interests of pulp and paper chemistry and technology. Founded in 1915, it has seven sections, each concerned with a specific phase of the industry. It also has 11 local sections that hold monthly meetings. The association publishes its own journal, as well as industry data sheets, bibliographies, technical monographs on subjects relating to the paper industry. Each site organization has a chemical coordinator, who is a trained, facility-level person, responsible for day-to-day chemical safety and OSHA HazCom compliance issues. The chemical coordinators are matrixed to the CCMC for guidance and training. They also attend monthly meetings organized by the CCMC... 

Regular monthly meetings should be set up with local sales representatives to discuss what is projected for the next month. The sales representatives should also meet with the technical groups to get updates on new product launches and possible requirements for other products. This is another way to communicate news back and forth between the organizations. 

To drive the system at the plant, the safety leadership team comprising all the divisional managers was formed with the sole purpose of promoting, driving, and supporting the Five-Star Safety System. They met monthly, and the newly appointed safety director reported to them at their monthly meetings.

Lectures and excursions were frequently provided by the SCHC. Until 1906 the members and guests delivered at the monthly meetings 420 lectures covering most domains of theoretical and practical chemistry. The society awarded to the best of them financial prizes, but these were given, for obvious reasons, mostly to students and to external guests. The 62 excursions involved visits to various factories and plants related to chemical, metallurgical and food industries, and also exhibitions. A special excursion fund enabled even the neediest students to participate.
