Miscellaneous ingredients

As Tor the miscellaneous ingredients mentioned, some are used as tillers or extenders as in the case of sand, and some are used in ihcir own right as when pitch, tar. rosin, molten sulfur, or packed asbestos can be used. See also Adhesives. 

Miscellaneous ingredients occasionally will be used, if a back-coating needs a specific appearance or specialized performance property. Miscellaneous ingredients include pigment penetrant, defoamer, dispersant, chelating agent, anti-blistering... 

Most of over six million dentures produced annually in the USA are made of acrylics (PMMAs) that includes full dentures, partial dentures, teeth, denture reliners, fillings and miscellaneous uses. Plastics have been edging into the dental market for over a half century. Even before the introduction of acrylics to the dental profession in 1937, nitrocellulose, phenol-formaldehyde and vinyl plastics were used as denture base materials. Results, however, were not wholly satisfactory because these plastics did not have the proper requisites of dental plastics. Since then, PMMAs have kept their lead as the most useful dental plastics, although many new plastics have appeared and are still being tested. Predominance of PMMAs is not surprising, for they are reasonably strong, have exceptional optical properties, low water absorption and solubility, and excellent dimensional stability. Most denture base materials, therefore, contain PMMA as the main ingredient. 

Various types of preparations are used for the treatment of otic (ear) disorders. Otic preparations can be divided into three categories (1) antibiotics (2) antibiotic and steroid combinations and (3) miscellaneous preparations. The miscellaneous preparations usually contain one or more of the following ingredients ... 

Nonfat dry milk (NFDM), lowfat dry milk (LFDM), and dry whole milk (DWM) are produced and used as functional ingredients in dairy, bakery, confectionary, and other food applications. Instantized NFDM is made primarily for home and institutional beverage and miscellaneous product applications (Hall 1976 Hall and Hedrick 1966).

The major non-nylon uses of AA are in polyester polyols (for polyurethane resins, 25% of AA production), in plasticizers (7% dioctyl adipate, diisodecyl adipate, etc. for vinyl chloride, nitrocellulose and cellulose acetate polymers), resins (2% unsaturated polyesters) and 3% for miscellaneous applications, such as a food ingredient in gelatins, and as a component in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, paper, cements, waxes, and so on. 

Anti-diarrhea combinations are miscellaneous antidiarrheals that include colistin sulfate, furazolidone, loperamide, lactobadUus, and octreotide acetate. You may know these brand names drags to alleviate diarrhea Lomotil (diphenoxylate HCl with atropine sulfate) and parepectolin (paregoric, kaolin, pectin, alcohol). Most contain a synthetic narcotic ingredient. 

Miscellaneous Capsaicin sprays These products contain capsaicin, the main ingredient in chili peppers. Exposure causes intense mucous membrane irritation and burning sensation,Treat with topical liquid antacids. 

Miscellaneous uses include as an ingredient in fingernail polish, for metal degreasing, in extracting spices, and as a dry cleaning agent. 

SpG of polymeric ingredients is given in Table 1.1. SpG of phthalate plasticizers is given in Table 1.2, that of speciality plasticizers in Table 1.3, and that of miscellaneous plasticizers in Table 1.4. SpG of commonly used organic additives is given in Table 1.5 and that of inorganic additives in Table 1.6. 

In discussing the food uses of fishes, the term fish refers to edible species of finfish, molluscs, and Crustacea coming from the marine or freshwater bodies of the world, either by capture fisheries or by aquaculture. Accordingly, fishery products means any human food product in which fish is a characterizing ingredient, such as dried, salted, and smoked fish, marinated fish, canned seafood, minced fish flesh such as surimi, and miscellaneous products.
