Meetings, internal consultants

SCOR-project is to identify, evaluate and prioritize actions using shortcut methods. SCOR-projects are usually executed by teams made up of members of different departments including customer service, sales, controlling, operations, procurement and logistics. The teams are supported by internal consultants, who provide knowledge about the SCOR-model and preside over the team meetings.

The following activities should be pursued and progress should be reported at the next meeting of the Expert Committee. Development of specifications and guidelines will be carried out using the established international consultative process.

CIPM), which meets annually and oversees the work of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM). The BIPM, based at Sevres just outside Paris, has the responsibility for international standards and is a center for international research and cooperation in metrology. The CIPM has created a number of advisory specialist committees (consultative committees) that are each chaired by a member of CIPM. The committee of interest to chemists is the Consultative Committee on the Amount of Substance (CCQM). It oversees the Avogadro project and coordinates a series of international interlaboratory trials called Key Comparisons (BIPM 2003), which... 

A number of reviews can be consulted for an introduction to the fundamentals both theoretical and practical covering XPS. These include Riggs and Parker (2) and the book by Carlson (3). Electron spectroscopy is reviewed in alternate years in the Fundamental Reviews issue of Analytical Chemistry. The last literature review was published in 1980 (4) and this and previous reviews can be consulted for a coverage of all aspects of the literature of XPS. A number of recent symposia have been held on applications of surface analytical methods in various aspects of materials science such as the symposium on characterization of molecular structures of polymers by photon, electron, and ion probes at the March 1980 American Chemical Society meetings in Houston ( 5) and the International Symposium on Physiochemical Aspects of Polymer Surfaces at this meeting as well as the symposium on industrial applications of surface analysis of which this article is a part. Review articles on various applications of XPS in materials science are listed in Table I.

Enterprises need a certain internal organisation for chemicals control. A clear allocation of responsibility and efficient routines must be established within the company for control of the purchase of chemicals, data retrieval, hazard and risk assessment, classification, labelling, SDS, work instructions, training, exposure and emission control, etc. Obviously, smooth and efficient co-operation between actors in the supply chain simplifies the work of enterprises (c.f. Fig. 16.4). Enterprises may meet demands on expertise by making use of the skills of their chemical suppliers, by hiring their own experts or by hiring external expertise as consultants. Normally, a combination of these alternatives is used. 

The final document was "signed off" by the six cosponsors at Step 2 in the ICH process November 29,1995 at the ICH 3 meeting in Yokohama, Japan and transmitted to the three regional regulatory agencies for formal consultation in accordance with their normal internal and/or external consultation process. 

In addition to authoring more than 60 publications and receiving two patents, Rowell has presented numerous papers at national and international scientific meetings, organized national and international symposia, and has been active in consulting and technology transfer of his research. 

Finally, 1 have to thank the many people who have inspired me over the years to continue with my efforts in completing this book. This includes among others the many people 1 meet during my comses and consulting work in LC-MS, my colleagues and the Ph.D. students in my part-time job at the Free University in Amsterdam, my international collaboration partners. 1 thank my wife and family, who had to share me, because a large part of me was writing this book.
