The highest earnings in the food chemistry field go to those with an MBA, or Master of Business Administration degree. This credential also enhances your chances of employment and will enable you to move out of the laboratory, if you wish, and into the even more lucrative field of senior management at a food manufacturing company. 

Because of the global nature of the field, students should maintain a general openness to work abroad or in somewhat remote locations, with the exception of those purely interested in design. The field can also be attractive to students with expertise in support functions, including those who have earned a B.A. in English, communications, economics, or biology. A master of business administration would serve as preparation for the business end of the field. 

This means it is time for engineers to take back the management of engineering from masters of business administration, accountants, and lawyers. On the academic side, engineers need to take back engineering education from the grip of university...

Margarete studied pharmacy at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Vienna, from 1995 to 2001. In her master thesis she engaged in the synthesis of cytostatic drugs. After graduation, she underwent professional training to be pharmacist. In addition to working at a pharmacy, she studies at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. 

Achim Berg is a consultant with McKinsey based in Frankfurt. He has worked for various clients in the chemical industry in Europe, the United States, and Asia. His main areas of emphasis within McKinsey are buyout transactions, strategy, corporate reorganization, and operational improvement programs. He holds a master s degree and a PhD in business administration and economics from Witten/Herdecke University. 

RODNEY N. HOWARD joined the Space Studies Board as a senior project assistant in 2002. Before joining SSB, most of his vocational life was spent in the health profession—as a pharmacy technologist at Doctor s Hospital in Lanham, Maryland, and as an interim center administrator at the Concentra Medical Center in Jessup, Maryland. Pharmacists who wish to pursue a certain field of study in depth may enroll in postgraduate master s or doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) programs. Common fields of study for master s candidates include business administration, clinical pharmacy, and public health. Common fields for Ph.D. studies include pharmacology, pharmaceutics, pharmacy practice, and social and administrative sciences. 

For director of pharmacy services, five to seven years of experience are often required in a similar health system. Additional education and training, such as an advanced residency in pharmacy management or a masters degree in business administration, are often preferred or required. Ability to manage resources, personnel, planning, financial, and interprofessional relationships with good communication skills are often required. 

Dr. Fingas earned his doctorate in environmental sciences from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. He also holds master s degrees in science and business administration from the University of Ottawa in Ontario, as well as a bachelor of arts degree and technical training in machining and electronics.

Martin Muckett has Masters Degrees in Business Administration and Local Government Management. He is been an active Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers since 1986, and was awarded the NEBOSH Dipioma in 1998. He is a chartered member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

Gruber received a bachelor s degree from the University of Saint Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1983, where he majored in chemistry and biology.
