Not only meat extracts, protein hydrolysates, and yeast autolysates, but also glutamate, ribonucleotides (inosinate/guanylate), and reaction [Pg.603]

To improve the technological properties, dry soups and sauces contain a series of other ingredients, e. g., milk products, egg products, sugar, and maltodextrin, acids, soybean protein, sugar coloring, and antioxidants. [Pg.604]

The production of dry soups and sauces essentially involves mixing the preproduced raw materials. The process steps are shown in Fig. 12.36. Weighing of individual components from the raw material silos and their pneumatic dosing [Pg.604]

All these fuel gases contain more than 50 % hydrogen and 10-30% methane, the other main components being CO, higher hydrocarbons, CO2 and Nj. In many parts of the world natural gas of calorific value of approximately 38MJ/m has become the widely-used gaseous fuel. [Pg.401]

The main component of sandstone reservoirs ( siliciclastic reservoirs ) is quartz (Si02). Chemically it is a fairly stable mineral which is not easily altered by changes in pressure, temperature or acidity of pore fluids. Sandstone reservoirs form after the sand grains have been transported over large distances and have deposited in particular environments of deposition. [Pg.13]

For safety reasons, the main components of industrial installations must undergo NDT so as to guarantee the functional capacities of equipment by verifying the integrity of the materials. This paper presents the EDF project to improve the quality for detection, localization and characterization of incoming faults inside materials, and to increase the performance of X or y radiographic analysis. [Pg.500]

Fig. 4 illustrates the time-dependence of the length of top s water column in conical capillary of the dimensions R = 15 pm and lo =310 pm at temperature T = 22°C. Experimental data for the top s column are approximated by the formula (11). The value of A is selected under the requirement to ensure optimum correlation between experimental and theoretical data. It gives Ae =3,810 J. One can see that there is satisfactory correlation between experimental and theoretical dependencies. Moreover, the value Ae has the same order of magnitude as Hamaker constant Ah. But just Ah describes one of the main components of disjoining pressure IT [13]. It confirms the rightness of our physical arguments, described above, to explain the mechanism of two-side liquid penetration into dead-end capillaries. [Pg.617]

The main component of the holder is the specially bended tube which allows the introduction of the whale probe" through a 10 mm hole in the housing ring of the engine. Then the whale probe" is easily positioned to the foot of one of the blades. After the inspection of the first blade root, the engine is rotated several degrees to allow the inspection of the next blade. [Pg.761]

The complete advanced 3D inspection system contains three main components the Advanced Inspection Robot - AIR-1, the new generation P-scan ultrasonic data acquisition system - PS-4 and the 3D ultrasonic simulation system - UltraSIM. [Pg.870]

Not aii moiecuies are suited for estabiishing SAMs. The majority of cases studied have invoived assembiy of aikyi-chain-based entities. The moiecuies of seif-organizing chemicai compounds aii have a simiiar stmcture. The spontaneous nature of fiim fonnation is due to the interaction energies of the monoiayers. These can be considered in tenns of tiiree main components (figure C2.4.i0) [121], which cooperativeiy estabiish stabiiity, order and orientation in the monoiayer. [Pg.2621]

If, however, the impurities are themselves volatile liquids, then the separation of these impurities from the main bulk of the required substance is achieved by fractional distillation. If an ordinary distilling-flask, such as that shown in Fig. 2, p. 8, is used for this purpose, however, only a very partial separation of the liquid components of the crude mixture is usually obtained, unless there is a considerable difference in boiling-point between the impurities and the main component. T0 obtain a much sharper and more complete separation, a fractionating column is employed. [Pg.25]

With acid catalysts, butyrolactone reacts with alcohols rapidly even at room temperature, giving equiUbtium mixtures consisting of esters of 4-hydroxybutyric acid [591-81-1] with unchanged butyrolactone as the main component. Attempts to distill such mixtures ordinarily result in complete reversal to butyrolactone and alcohol. The esters can be separated by a quick flash distillation at high vacuum (149). [Pg.110]

Both oae-step and two-step oxidation processes are known. A number of catalyst systems are known most use a molybdenum compound as the main component. The acryhc acid is esterified with alcohol to the desired acryhc ester ia a separate process (63—66). [Pg.164]

Basil (Sweet Basil). Basil consists of the brown, dried leaves and tender stems of Ocimum basilicum L. (Labiatae), an aimual native to India, Africa, and Asia, and cultivated in Egypt, southern Erance, Morocco, the Mediteranean countries, and the United States. Basil is one of the oldest known herbs, and it is reported that there are perhaps 50—60 poorly defined Ocimum species which can only be identified according to their chemical components. The flavor of the basihcum type is warm, sweet, somewhat pungent, and pecuhar, ie, methyl chavicol and linalool. It is used with meats, fish, certain cheeses, and tomato-based salads. The fresh leaves are ground and known as pesto with pastas. It is the main component of the Hqueur Chartreuse. [Pg.27]

Mu/tihearth Furnace. Multihearth furnaces are most often used for incineration of municipal and industrial sludges, and for generation and reactivation of char. The main components of the multihearth are a refractory-lined shell, a central rotating shaft, a series of soHd flat hearths, a series of rabble arms having teeth for each hearth, an afterburner (possibly above the top hearth), an exhaust blower, fuel burners, an ash removal system, and a feed system. [Pg.46]

The word lignin is derived from the Latin word lignum meaning wood. It is a main component of vascular plants. Indeed, lignin is second only to polysaccharides in natural abundance, contributing 24—33% and 19—28%, respectively, to dry wood weights of normal softwoods and temperate-2one hardwoods. [Pg.137]

BulkSepa.ra.tlon, The adsorptive separation of process streams into two or more main components is termed bulk separation (see Fig. 12). The development of processes and products is complex. Consequently, these processes are proprietary and are purchased as a complete package under licensing agreements. High purities and yields can be achieved. [Pg.457]

Tablet Press. The main components of a tablet compression machine (press) are the dies, which hold a measured volume of material to be compressed (granulation), the upper punches which exert pressure on the down stroke, and the lower punches which move upward after compaction to eject the tablets from the dies. Mechanical components deflver the necessary pressure. The granulation is fed from a hopper with a feed-frame on rotary-type presses and a feeding shoe on single-punch presses. A smooth and even flow ensures good weight and compression uniformity. Using the proper formulation, demixing in the hopper is minimized. Tablet Press. Calcium Phosphates. The alkaline-earth phosphates are generally much less soluble than those of the alkaH metals. Calcium phosphates include the most abundant natural form of phosphoms, ie, apatites, Ca2Q(P0 3X2, where X = OH, F, Cl, etc. Apatite ores are the predominant basic raw material for the production of phosphoms and its derivatives. Calcium phosphates are the main component of bones and teeth. After sodium phosphates, the calcium salts are the next largest volume technical- and food-grade phosphates. Many commercial appHcations of the calcium phosphates depend on thek low solubiHties. [Pg.333]

Amino acids are the main components of proteins. Approximately twenty amino acids are common constituents of proteins (1) and are called protein amino acids, or primary protein amino acids because they are found in proteins as they emerge from the ribosome in the translation process of protein synthesis (2), or natural amino acids. In 1820 the simplest amino acid, glycine, was isolated from gelatin (3) the most recendy isolated, of nutritional importance, is L-threonine which was found (4) in 1935 to be a growth factor of rats. The history of the discoveries of the amino acids has been reviewed... [Pg.269]

Inks. The main components of the inks ate typically water, colorants, and humectants. Additives ate used to control drying time, waterfastness, lightfastness, and consistency of drop formation. Water is an excellent vehicle for ink jet because of its high surface tension and safety in all environments. [Pg.53]

Printing Ink Formulation. Inks typically contain three main components pigments, ie, the colored, soHd iagredients vehicles, ie, the fluid iagredients and additives, such as driers and extenders. [Pg.55]
