P.Y.12 types are used in packaging gravure and flexographic inks for their reasonable price, but they can also be utilized in aqueous printing inks, provided they are sufficiently fast to light. They cannot be applied as decorative printing inks to laminated paper. 

Lignins from waste hquors are also used as extenders for phenoplasts and in adhesives for laminated paper and board, hnoleum pastes, animal feedstuff pellets, etc. 

Miyamoto et al. (4) used the step 2 product of the current application as a photosensitive component in a lithographic printing plate. The plate had excellent workability and good image resolution properties and could be used in the absence of laminated paper. 

The compositions may also be extruded into films and laminate papers. The films have excellent mechanical properties, including impact resistance and tensile strength as well as satisfactory releasability and gas permeability. The films are also heat sealable and the heat sealed film has sufficient strength. Therefore, such films are quite appropriate for the use as vegetable wrapping films, industrial films, and bags for storing platelets and cells. 

Laminated papers are usually colored with extremely lightfast rutile pigments before being impregnated with melamine-urea resin for use as decorative layers or films. 

Fruit juices and soft drinks are available in essentially the same form almost anywhere in the world. From polar bases to the tropics, and from the largest developed nations to small and less developed countries, soft drinks and fruit juices are available in bottles, cans, laminated paper packs, pouches, cups and almost every other form of packaging known. 

Melamine is supplied in bags, carlots, and truckloads. Some of the melamine uses are surface coatings, laminates, paper treating, molding compounds, textile treating, wood adhesives, and other uses such as ceiling tiles,... 

Coated or laminated paper products represent a significant potential market for biodegradable polymers. At present, packaging such as hamburger wrapping and disposable cups, are extrusion coated with low density polyethylene film that is resistant to biodegradation. This also restricts the biodegradation of the paper substrate since it acts as an impervious barrier. 

Europe has over 40% of the 10 billion m global market for panel surfacing materials, with market share for low pressure melamine (51%), veneer (18%), paper foils (13%), high pressure laminates and paint (7% each) etc. (O Carroll, 2001). The prime substrate is particleboard and MDF, except for the uses discussed above, e.g. formwork and floating floors where plywood excels. The laminating paper is typically an absorbent kraft sheet that is saturated with resin. 

Although pressed wood products may be a source of formaldehyde in indoor air, there are numerous others. These include permanent press fabrics, fiberglass products, decorative laminates, paper goods, paints, wallpaper, and cosmetics (Kelly et al. 1996). Its presence in indoor air also results from combustion sources, such as stoves, heaters, or burning cigarettes (Matthews et al. 1985 NRC 1981). 

Laminated papers—these materials are usually laminated to paper and include foils and polymers detailed in Chapter 11.
