Intent-to-leave

Assume that, as the individual enters the returning phase, he or she wants to live solely off earnings from his or her net worth plus, in the case of Scenario 2, Social Security. This approach reflects the individual s uncertainty about his or her life span, the desire to leave a large estate for others, and/or an intent to leave a legacy for special causes. This approach requires an estimate of the annual yield of the net worth at retirement. A conservative value of five percent is used in Scenario 1 and an aggressive value of nine percent is used in Scenario 2 (Hoover 2011). 

To measure intent to leave, students were asked to respond to the statement, Given an opportunity to enroll in the same degree program at a different but equally ranked university, I would... by indicating whether they would (a) definitely maintain enrollment at their university, (b) probably maintain enrollment at their university, (c) don t know—no opinion, (d) probably enroll at the alternative university, or (e) definitely enroll at the alternative university. This item was then dichotomized into not leave (i.e., definitely or probably maintain enrollment at their university) and leave (i.e., probably or definitely enroll elsewhere) for use in the logistic regression analysis. 

Unlike the theory-generating model found in exploratory factors analysis, CFA is a theory-testing model in which the researcher begins with an a priori hypothesis that specifies which variables are correlated with which factors and which factors are correlated with each other. The hypothesized relationships among the nine constructs and intent to leave were based on a strong theoretical foundation from prior research.

The Swedish government s announced intentions to ban all uses of cadmium, including in recyclable accumulators, may, in fact, increase health and environmental risks. Cadmium is always present in zinc, and it is obtained from the purification of that metal.
