Innovation continued individual

A creative knowledge economy and society will need individuals who are able to innovate continuously, and are capable of building relationships with others at a deeper level. 

Consider technology and the human interface when designing processes. Study history to ensure that patient safety continues to improve over time. Statistics can help measure the impact of interventions or innovations. Continuous improvement processes shift focus from an individual to a team. 

Elsa Reichmanis We don t use formal innovation processes such as those described in the preceding presentations. We do continually examine our portfolio of activities and determine what relates to the business from the advanced development, applied research perspective and from the very long-term research perspective. We need to have a mix of both, and we have a broad continuum of activity. In reality the spectrum of fundamental research to productization requires different modes of working at different stages—there is an evolution from what could perhaps be more individual blue-sky research to a team-based, problem-solving approach. To be successful, we need flexibility. 

Independent community pharmacy practice provides a vast array of opportunities for professional development and personal satisfaction. This venue accommodates all types of practitioners, ranging from allowing entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs the freedom to develop their ideas into actual goods or services to offering individuals interested in being their own boss the chance to start their own pharmacy and pursue unique practice niches. The independent community pharmacy continues to evolve from its earliest appearance in the United States to the technologically advanced patient care service entities of the twenty-first century. Independent pharmacists will continue to deal with unique issues facing their practices, and yet they will continue to innovate and provide quality patient care.

Under tribalism, individual responsibility was neither encouraged nor wanted. Harmony and a continuation of a system that worked for the group was dependent on obedience. Tradition and religion governed every action. Under such a system, there could be no individuality, thus no innovation, hence, no progress. 

Over the past 30 years the computer explosion has revolutionized information processing systems. These are powerful tools in the hands of innovative chemical engineers teamed with those of other disciplines, and the variety of applications is an impressive, growing list. Radical advances in soUd-state microelectronics and their rapid exploitation by the computer industry are making very low-cost microcomputers available. Ultimately, the test of the efficacy of the use of theory in explaining history lies in how much our understanding of the historical event in question is enhanced by the new treatment. The foregoing chapters have employed the rubric of discursive representations in explaining the Sino-American rapprochement in three ways.
