Considering the importance of the structural characteristics (crystalline phase, crystalline size, and geometrical surface area) in the control of band structure and in the concentration and mobility of photocatalyst charges, studies have been conducted on the influence of preparation methods on the photophysical properties of CdS (Arora et al., 1998 Jing and Guo, 2006). Improvement in CdS photoactivity is observed from preparation methods that lead to CdS phases with good crystallinity and few crystal defects. [Pg.139]

To investigate of influence of preparation methods on catalytic properties of iron molybdates catalysts with controlled excess of M0O3 were prepared by coprecipitation and sol-gel techniques. Their properties and performances were compared with an industrial catalyst. [Pg.808]

Metallosilicate molecular sieves result when the ions in zeolitic materials (aluminosilicate) are replaced (isomorphous substitution) by other ions. A large number of metal ions have reportedly been incorporated in zeolite lattices. However, doubts arise regarding the location of these metal ions in the framework in many cases. Detailed characterization of the metallosilicates is necessary to identity the nature and location of the metal ions. As an example, the types of V-ions present in vanadosilicate molecular sieves of MEL, MFI and BEA structure types are discussed based on detailed physicochemical characterization of these materials. Also, the influence of preparation methods on the type and location of the V-ions are reported. [Pg.27]

There have been several recent reports of corrosion studies involving polypyrrole or polypyrrole composites on iron or steel [217-226]. One study examined the influence of preparation method on the morphology, mechanical properties, and corrosion inhibition of PPy films on steel, concluding that the best mechanical properties (microhardness. Young s modulus, and elastic recovery) and the best corrosion protection were obtained for coatings electrodeposited at constant current and then thermally treated at 80°C for 1 d [219]. [Pg.1634]

There are many reports on PROX over Au/CeO [76-82], Au/TiOj [75, 80, 83-89], Au/ZrO [75, 80, 90], Au/FePj [91-99], Au/Fe(OH)3 [100, 101], Au/MnO [95], Au/ ZnO [98, 102], Au/ThO [103], and Au/Al Oj [75, 80, 104, 105]. Efforts have been made to smdy the influences of preparation methods/details, pretreatment details, and reaction conditions on catalytic performance. For instance, Chen and coworkers developed a series of Au/TiO catalysts via a photodeposition method [89]. The authors smdied the influences of pH value, power of UV Ughf and irradiation time on the physicochemical and catalytic properties of the catalysts. Scire and coworkers investigated the influences of different preparation methods and details on the catalytic performance of Au/Fe Oj [99] and Au/CeO [82]. Yuan and coworkers prepared gold nanoparticles on CeO with different morphologies and found that the activity in PROX followed the... [Pg.225]

Supported noble metal catalysts ate most widely used among heterogeneous catalysts because they are active for hydrogenation and dehydrogenation reactions as well as for complete and selective oxidation reactions (1). Although they ate usually prepared via impregnation, the influence of preparation method on their fine stmcture and catalytic properties has not been fully understood yet. [Pg.843]
