Describe the components of a safety program that would indicate management leadership and involvement. 

A small Midwestern manufacturing facility reported 23 of their 75 employees had experienced back injuries. A job satisfaction survey indicated very low employee morale and workers who did not trust manj ement. The survey results also indicated management was only concerned with profits and production, not employee safety. 

Using this tools, it is possible to simulate and visualize the behavior of the system under different circumstances especially in risk situations. It allows the generations of quantitative indicators that reflect the system performances. Using these indicators, managers can improve reliability of their system by appropriate safety barriers targeting the failures that cause the most significant performance degradation. 

The parametric method is an established statistical technique used for combining variables containing uncertainties, and has been advocated for use within the oil and gas industry as an alternative to Monte Carlo simulation. The main advantages of the method are its simplicity and its ability to identify the sensitivity of the result to the input variables. This allows a ranking of the variables in terms of their impact on the uncertainty of the result, and hence indicates where effort should be directed to better understand or manage the key variables in order to intervene to mitigate downside and/or take advantage of upside in the outcome. 

The objective of managing the well performance in the process flow scheme shown in Figure 14.1 is to reduce the constraints which the well might impose on the production of the hydrocarbons from the reservoir. The well constraints which may limit the reservoir potential may be split into two categories the completion interval and the production tubing. Procardia XL. Procardia XL extended-release capsules, marketed by Pfizer Labs Division of Pfizer, Inc., contain nifedipine [21829-25-4] a calcium channel blocker of mol wt 346.3. The extended release tablet is formulated as a once-a-day controlled release capsule for oral adrninistration dehvering either 30, 60, or 90 mg nifedipine. Procardia XL is indicated for use in the management of vasospastic angina, chronic stable angina, and hypertension (see Cardiovascularagents). 

The three general types of cost estimates needed are equipment cost, capital investment cost, and product cost. Equipment cost estimates are needed as part of the capital investment estimate, which indicates the amount of money that is needed to start the venture. Both of these estimates are reflected in the product cost estimate, which is important to both management and marketing groups. 

Since ratios, like balance sheets, refer to a particiilar point in time, they have a hmited use unless they are compared with previous values. A study of ratio trends indicates whether or not a company is approaching a working-capital or a hquidity crisis and may enable management to compare the performance of the company with that of competitors. 

As discussed in the introduction, the hierarchy set forth by the USEPA in the Pollution Prevention Act establishes an order to which waste-management activities should be employed to reduce the quantity of waste generated. The preferred method is source reduction, as indicated in Fig. 25-1. This approach actually precedes traditional waste management by addressing the source of the problem prior to its occurrence. 

Control actions, e.g., provide alarms to indicate things getting out of control define control actions to get back into control. The HAZOP study is not complete until response to actions has been documented. Initial HAZOP planning should establish the management follow-up procedure that will be used.
