Insect pests continue to compete effectively for human food and fiber supplies and to act as important vectors of human disease despite extensive efforts to control them. Because the use of chemical insecticides is at present our principal weapon against deleterious insects, the selection for significant levels of insecticide resistance in many populations of insect pest species threatens to compromise current crop protection and disease prevention strategies.

The taxon Apicomplexa includes members of a number of significant human parasites, including Babesiosis (Babesia), Toxoplasmosis (Toxoplasma) and Malaria (Plasmodium). Whilst each parasite is an important vector for human disease, we will focus on Plasmodium, and particularly P. falciparum in this review.

The use of household insecticides is the major component of public health use of pesticides in the developed countries from the region. The biggest market of these products is China. 

Another important vector correlation in photodissociation is called v-j correlation, which describes the relationship between the recoil velocity and the angular momentum of one of the fragments.
