Impact response

There is no more important product of higher education than graduates able to think and able to seek and find the truth. There is nothing more important to think about and discuss the truth about than our impacts on the chemistry of our Planet and the consequence of these impacts. Responsible environmental behavior ought to be one of the primary goals of general education. 

Experiences of this type are the basis of the DPSIR ( driving forces - pressure -state - impact - response ) approach (Fig. 1), which has been introduced in environmental policy as a link between ecological problems and economic and social responses [43]. 

Polymer modifications are intended to impute different, typically desired properties to the new modified material-properties such as enhanced thermal stability multiphase physical responses biological resistance, compatibility or degradability impact response flexibility rigidity etc. 

Strain differences in responses to nicotine are well documented in rodents, albeit these studies have concentrated on species differences using male animals (e.g., Collins et al. 1988). If there are strong strain differences in response to nicotine suggesting genetic vulnerability to or protection from nicotine addiction, sex is most likely another factor that could impact responses to nicotine as well. 

For the EVA foam midsoles of running shoes, the durability for repeated impact appears to improve with increased density. However the polymer conhibution to the impact response reduces after simulated (and real) use (a. 18), since wrinkles and some holes appear in the cell walls. Consequently these applications require high density foams.

It was found that increasing amounts of HDPEfine enhanced the impact response of concrete. One percent of HDPEfine produced a concrete with 8 percent more weight at the end of the 2000 revolutions than the control mix weight percentage. Meanwhile the HDPEfine-4 concrete finished with 17 percent more weight than the reference concrete weight percentage.

A large number of neck and spinal models also have been developed over the past four decades. A paper by Kleinberger [1993] provides a brief and incomplete review of these models. However, the method of choice for modeling the response of the neck is the finite-element method, principally because of the complex geometry of the vertebral components and the interaction of several different materials. A partially validated model for impact response was developed by Yang et al. [1998] to simulate both crown impact as well as the whiplash phenomenon due to a rear-end impact.
