Its contract manufacturing is categorized in two different areas (i) topical compositions, which resemble traditional creams, lotions, and ointments in appearance and use, and (ii) liquid compositions that can be absorbed sublingually, nasal spray products, or liquid ingestion products. 

Oxytetracycline preparations for oral administration should contain not less than 90% or not more than 120% [i] or not less than 90% and not more than 110% [2], of the labeled amount. For ointment, the requirements are not less than 90.0% and not more than 115% (for oxytetracycline HC1 and Hydrocortisone ointment, or 120% for other ointment. For ophthalmic suspension mixture with hydrocortisone acetate, its content should contain not less than 90% and not more than 110% [1]. 

If HL (C03-A010) is involved, a BAL (British-anti-Lewisite, dimercaprol) solution or ophthalmic ointment may be beneficial if administered promptly. It may also decrease the severity of skin and eye lesions if applied topically within minutes after decontamination is complete (i.e., within 2-5 minutes postexposure). 

I didn t know what it was at the time. I had severe headaches almost daily, and skin rashes. I used to get rashes all over my face, my arms, around my ears, the backs of my legs. The only thing that doctors could prescribe for me was a cortisone ointment that hurt and made my rash worse, so I didn t use it. 

Step 3 Determine the capsule size by using the rule of six. Capsule size 3 can hold 3 grains or 195 mg. Weigh 200 mg of the tablet mixture (which is obtained as 2000 mg of total powder/10 capsules) and try to fill in capsule size 3. If the capsule is not filled or it is too full, go for the next capsule size, i.e., 2 which holds approximately 4 grains or 260 mg of powder. Verify the appropriateness by filling one or two capsules of size 2. If appropriate, select this size. For 10 capsules, the total powder should be 2600 mg. Therefore add 600 mg of lactose in the tablet mixture of 2000 mg by geometric dilution. Transfer the 2600 mg of powder on a clean paper or an ointment tile, compress as a cake, and fill all the capsules by a sliding motion. 

Step 3 The total powder mixture weighs 5.54 + 2.81 g = 8.35 g. Therefore, the weight of each capsule will be 8.35 g/15 = 0.557 g. Determine the size of the capsule that can hold 0.557 g or 557 mg of the powder. It is known from the rule of six that size 0 can hold up to 7 gr, i.e., 7 x 65 = 455 mg. Obviously, the next capsule size 00 appears to be the right choice. Therefore, fill one or two capsules with 557 mg of the medication powder and determine the appropriateness. If appropriate, transfer all the powder to a clean paper or an ointment tile, form a cake by compressing the powder,... 

Two triamcinolone acetonide ointment preparations are available one containing 1 mg/g (i.e., 1 mg of triamcinolone acetonide per 1 gram of the ointment) and the other 5 mg/g. Express these concentrations as percentage strengths (% w/w). 

I attempted to rouse the system by wrapping the whole body, agreeably to Dr. Hume s practice, in blankets dipped in warm vinegar. To these remedies I added one more I rubbed the right side with mercurial ointment, with a view of exciting the actions of the vessels in the whole system through the medium of the liver . 

Pastes are semi-solid preparation for external application that differ from similar products (i.e. ointment) in containing a high proportion of finely powdered medicaments. 

The site of drug action means where a drug acts and mechanism means how the drug acts. Drug which act only at the site of application (i.e. localized region) are termed as local or topical action for example, ointments, paste, creams and certain other local preparations used externally produce only local effect. The local anaesthetics like lignocaine, procaine produce anaesthesia (local) in a localized region only.
