Roald Hoffmann (1937—) was born in Zloczow, Poland, just prior to World War II. As a boy, he survived the Holocaust by hiding in the attic of a village schoolhouse. In 1949, he immigrated to the United States, where he received an undergraduate degree at Columbia University and a Ph.D. at Harvard University in 1962. During a further 3-year stay at Harvard as Junior Fellow, he began the collaboration with R. B. Woodward that led to the development of the Woodward-Hoffmann rules for pericyclic reactions. In 1965, he moved to Cornell University, where he remains as professor. He received the 1981 Nobel Prize in chemistry. 

Farben, under the leadership of these defendants, pursued a course of action evidencing cavalier disregard of probable consequences. Such conduct, carried out for a dictator who manifested his warlike intentions in many ways. .. is sufficiently reprehensible in its relation to the resulting holocaust of war as to cause me to feel that international law should be broadened to devise standards defining the criminality of action of the character carried out by these defendants. 

I m particularly interested in educating the medical profession. It is very hard for some doctors to accept that there are people who vomit blood, or have a convulsion, or a cardiovascular reaction to low levels of pesticide exposure. It s terribly disturbing to have people in positions of influence say there is nothing wrong with us, when that is so far from the truth. Last year the editor of a medical journal rejected information on the prevalence of MCS in Gulf War veterans because he didn t believe the illness existed. It s like saying the Holocaust didn t happen. 

Yet as with Irish immigrants, who came ashore already carrying the cultural and political baggage of Saxon oppression, the Jews version of becoming Caucasian cannot be understood apart from their particular history of special sorrows in the ghettos of Eastern Europe, apart from the deep history of anti-Semitism in Western culture, apart from anti-Semitic stereotypes that date back well before the European arrival on North American shores, or apart, finally and most obviously, from the historic cataclysm of the Holocaust.

Leuchter s report and subsequent testimony shook the foundations of Holocaust history, the story of the Nazi gas chambers . Considering the tens of thousands of copies of this Leuchter Report that have been distributed in all major languages all over the world and the many speeches Leuchter held, the impact of the work of this one man was enormous. 

Alarmed by this development, the Never Forgive, Never Forget brigade wasted no time in taking counter-measures. Self-styled Nazi hunter Beate Klarsfeld announced that Fred Leuchter has to understand that in denying the Holocaust, he cannot remain unpunished. 28... 

Jewish organizations launched a vicious smear campaign to destroy not only his reputation, but his ability to make a living. Leading the charge was Shelly Shapiro and her group, Holocaust Survivors... 

Although these accusations were entirely unfounded and failed to survive any legal verification, the get Leuchter campaign, with the co-operation of mainstream journalists and editors, was successful. Leuchter s contracts with state authorities for the manufacture, installation, and servicing of execution hardware were cancelled. He was financially forced out of his home in Massachusetts and had to find private work elsewhere. No American has suffered more for his defiance of the Holocaust lobby.

In view of this unrealistic reconstructions carried out after the war, the Jewish-American professor of architecture Robert van Pelt, who actually is only a professor for cultural history, in co-operation with the Jewish-Canadian Holocaust historian Deborah Dwork, arrives at the following, no less unequivocal conclusions 173... 

If the Holocaust revisionists would be shown to be right we would lose our sense about the Second World War, we would lose our sense about what democracy was. The Second World War was a moral war it was a war between good and evil.
