High-level controller

Machine process controls coordinate individual functions of the clamp, injection unit, ejector mechanism, and mold systems and accessories such as core pulls and unscrewing dies for threaded parts. The more advanced controls employ a feedback system (closed loop) to provide much tighter control over actual parameters vs. setpoints. High-level controls are capable of communicating with auxiliary equipment such as chillers, hopper loaders, mold temperature controllers, robots, etc., and displaying all machine parameters and conditions (Chapter 3)... [Pg.199]

The development of virtual machines reduces the problems of incompatibility in an automated system, especially when the automated equipment follows different communication standards and protocols. It also enables the high-level controller to focus on his or her control activities, such as sequencing and scheduling, rather than detailed command incompatibility problems. Further information on virtual machines and automation can be found in Burdea and Coiffet (1999). [Pg.169]

This chapter addresses the performance-driven issues in high-level controller design. In particular, effective ways to decompose the controller architecture are presented. The effect of compiled cells on performance-driven technology mapping is also discussed. Finally, it provides results on formal verification aspects in a real-time context. [Pg.18]

You made no mention of the possibility of using expert systems/high level control and energy savings. [Pg.49]

Future scenarios project a low energy consumption, minimum maimed cement works with almost complete computer control via novel sensors for the on-line control of raw material/clinker characteristics. Blue Circle are already well down the path with the development of high level control and the introduction of Integrated Working. [Pg.143]

Simple flow controllers use the differential pressure at an adjustable restrictor the plus and minus sides are on the two sides of a spring-supported diaphragm. These controllers are used as backflow (check) valves or as isolation valves, which shut off if the flow is reversed or too high. Level controllers with floats are in condensate separators often coupled with simple temperature controllers as in Figure 12.28. These devices contain an electrical jump switch and operate therefore as two-point On-Off controllers. Controllers without auxiliary energy are used, where it is not essential to have high control accuracy and when one must do without the auxiliary power for safety reasons. [Pg.648]

A thermal adaptive microfluidic structure (TAMS) with a high-level control system was proposed in 2012. To reduce the energy consumption of cooling systems, e.g., in electronic computers, it is favorable to reduce the amount of the cooling medium to a minimum. This is achieved by dividing the whole device in smaller substmetures (see Fig. 3), each of these substructures can switch the medium... [Pg.90]

Two level controllers must be used, one set for high level, the other low. The outputs of the flow controller and the high-level controller go to a high selector its output is compared to that of the low-level controller in a low selector, whose output drives the valve. [Pg.351]

Another facet of the second generation HAL system is a new methodology [31] for high-level controller specification and synthesis which is partly based on the concepts of Harel s statecharts [32]. The long term goal is to create a high-level synthesis environment which supports both DSP style q>plications as well high-level controllor applications (such as protocols). [Pg.280]

In contrast to other environments, there are no tools available for automatic code generation from high level control system abstractions. [Pg.19]

The control strategies include two different approaches divided as high-level control and low-level control (Tibaduiza, 2006). In the first, the free-obstacle path is calculated based on information from the artificial vision system and this is sent to the robot using RF communication (Figure 16). [Pg.140]

Supervisory Control Level This consists in a high-level control. At this level, it is possible to manage the supervision of one or more mobile robots through the execution of global control strategies. [Pg.210]

The enantioselective catalysed three-component reaction of a diazo compound (343), a carbamate (344), and an imine (345) by chiral Bronsted acids (300, 348) provided an efficient access to both syn- and anti- a-sub-stituted a,p-diamino acid derivatives (346, 347) with a high level control of chemo-, diastereo-, and enantioselectivity (Scheme 91). ... [Pg.125]
