Florestano et al compared the release of neomycin from P.E.G. diester ointment bases and grease-type bases and concluded the former to be preferred though Coates et al Ol have described P.E.G. from British sources to be incompatible with neomycin. 

Since 1977 several new thickener types have become widely used, including complex (sodium, lithium, calcium or aluminium), polyurea, modified clays, and other non-soap thickeners. To bring the picture up-to-date, Risdon carried out an evaluation in 1986 of three of the newer grease types not inciuded in the previous programme. They were lithium complex, aluminium complex and polyurea. They included one EP (extreme pressure) and one non-EP grease for each type of thickener, and all were of the same consistency grade, NLGI No 2.

In order to install these devices, steel bolts are anchored in existing concrete pier/abutment by use of epoxy resin, as shown in Fig. 8. The minimum thickness of steel bracket is 22mm and the length of bore hole is 15 times more than diameter of anchoring rebar. Two types of epoxy resins, namely liquid resin and grease type resin, as shown in Table 1 are used for the anchoring. 

On the other hand, use of grease type epoxy for anchoring bolt as shown in Fig. 10 is easier and the execution is the following two simple steps ...

The use of grease type epoxy resin is becoming well-accepted for reducing the process time and duration of construction. Mechanical properties of the hardened grease type resin are not particularly different from those of liquid epoxy resin. 

Analysis of sewage. In the routine analyses used to analyze sewage, processes to determine temperature, pH, settleable substances, chemical oxygen demand and biochemical oxygen demand are usual. More comprehensive analyses of sewage also record organic substances such as oil and grease-type... 

Water samples for determining oil and grease-type substances should be filled in glass bottles and special care taken that the glass bottles, together with ground surfaces and stoppers, have been rendered grease-free beforehand with the same solvent as will be used later to extract the water. 

Further refinement is desirable concerning the preparation of grease type samples. Otherwise, the state of the art" appears satisfactory. No improvements or modifications of the test apparatus are anticipated presently. Results of this test are used as a basis for selection of materials for use in missile LOX systems.
