Gasket connection

HH-C-536 Caulking Compound for Gasket Connections. MIL- R-46082 Retaining Compounds, Single Component. MIL-A-101 Adhesive, water-resistant. [Pg.386]

ASTM D 3139 Elastomeric gasketed connections for pressure applications. [Pg.62]

This connection is good for pipes large enough to allow man entry. Other gasket connections (Figure 3.14(b)) can be used for smaller diameter pipes or when man entry is not desirable. [Pg.55]

The cell head is fabricated from a 2.54-cm steel plate and has separate compartments for fluorine and hydrogen. The oudet-gas manifolds, hydrogen fluoride feed and purge lines, and electrical connections are on top of the head. The gas separation skirt is made of Monel. An insulating gasket maintains the seal between the tank and the head. The anode assembly consists of 32 carbon blades bolted onto a copper bar, each of which contains three copper conductor posts. The cathode assembly consists of three vertical, 0.6-cm parallel steep plates. The plates surround the anode assembly and are supported by three steel posts which also serve as conductors. [Pg.126]

Fittings. Fittings connect pipes and provide for the attachment of equipment to change flow direction. They must be easily cleaned inside and out, have no exposed pipe threads, and, if of the detachable type, have an appropriate gasket. The fittings are constmcted of the same or similar materials as the pipeline and are installed on tubing. Standard shapes and sizes are specified by the 3A Standards Committee. [Pg.361]

Commercial-grade nitroparaftins are shipped and stored ia ordinary carbon steel. However, wet nitroparaftins containing more than 0.1—0.2% water may become discolored when stored ia steel for long periods, even though corrosion is not excessive. Aluminum and stainless steel are completely resistant to corrosion by wet nitroparaftins. Storage ia contact with lead (qv), copper, or alloys containing these metals should be avoided. Polymeric materials for gaskets, hoses, and connections should be tested for thek suitabiHty before exposure to nitroparaftins. [Pg.102]

Tubular Tubular membranes (Fig. 22-51) are supported by a pressure vessel, iisiiallv perForated or porous. It can be as simple as a wrapped nonw oven Fabric, or as robust as a stainless-steel tube. All rim with tube-side Feed. Thev are rnainlv used For UF, with some RO applications, particularly For Food and daiiw. The primary diameters available are 12 and 25 mm. Tubes are oFten connected in series parallel bundles, gasketed or potted, are also common. [Pg.2026]

The philosophy of any EMI shield is to encourage eddy currents to flow within the surfaces, thus dissipating the noise energy. Also, the assembled enclosure should act as a gaussian enclosure where there is good electrical conduction totally around the enclosure. So removable hatches and enclosure members need very good electrical connections around their peripheries. RF gasketing is sometimes used in particularly troublesome cases. [Pg.245]

Gasket A semirigid or flexible sealing material fitted in the connection between two surfaces. [Pg.1444]

A box or fitting must be installed at each conductor sphce connection point, receptacle, switch, junction point, or pull point for the connection of conduit system. In Division 1 areas only explosion-proof boxes or fittings are allowed. General purpose gasketed cover type fittings are allowed in Division 2 areas. [Pg.535]

The connections were not made correctly. In particular, screwed joints were secured by only a few threads, different threads were combined, or gaskets were missing. [Pg.150]

Connection of feinforced flofed face to gasketed plastic-lined pipe... [Pg.60]

Bag filters are perhaps the most widely used of these types of pretreatment equipment, and they are also commonly employed (and highly recommended) for sidestream application in HW boiler circuits. They are reliable and robust and tend to be available in an almost infinite number of permutations. When sizing, specification items to be considered include flow rates, vessel materials, housing and support-basket sizes, pipe sizes, connection threads and flanges, outlet positions, code and pressure ratings, gasket materials, bag shapes, bag materials, and micron ratings. [Pg.325]
