Filtered valves contain a fine internal filter, typically below the body orifice. This filter prevents clogging by the debris sometimes found in product and package. The use of filtration is recommended with any valve systems containing body, stem, or actuator orifices of 0.25-mm (or smaller) diameter unless exceptional care is taken in the cleaning of product and package components. Belt Presses Belt presses were fiiUy described in the section on filtration. The description here is intended to cover only the parts and designs that apply expression pressure by a mechanism in adchtion to the normal compression obtained from tensioning the belts and pulling them over rollers of smaller and smaller diameters. The tension on the belt produces a squeezing pressure on the filter cake proportional to the diameter of the rollers. Rotaiy wheel atomizers require 0.8 to 1.0 kWh/1,000 L. The lateral throw of a spray wheel requires a large diameter to prevent accumulation on the wall length to diameter ratios of 0.5 to 1.0 are in use in such cases.
