The sterile milk concentrate is aseptically placed in suitable containers, probably metal cans or modem laminated, foil-lined, plastic containers. Modern aseptic packaging equipment used for manufacturing UHT sterile milk should be satisfactory for packaging the sterile milk concentrate. 

Albert (Aly) A. Kaufman, one of the early pioneers of extrusion, who established Prodex in New Jersey and later Kaufman S. A. in France, and introduced many innovations into extrusion practice, told one of the authors (Z.T.) that in one of the Annual Technical Conference (ANTEC) meetings long before in-line plasticating units came on board, he told the audience that the only way to get a uniform plasticized product is if the ram is replaced by a rotating and reciprocating screw. Aly never patented his innovative ideas because he believed that it is better to stay ahead of competition then to spend money and time on patents.

All of the usual bullshit applies here, but there are some neat little tricks that are best applied to glassware purchasing. Only the biggest glassware makers (Ace, Reliance, Kimble, Kontes, etc.) offer preassembled home distillation kits in nice, foam lined plastic suitcases. All others sell the components individuedly. Assume the latter and request individual pieces.

It should be emphasized that two fundamentally different types of craze tests were performed in this work. The test described initially, in which the craze stress below a notch was calculated from the slip line plasticity theory, without exposure to solvent, is a test in which the strain is changed as a function of time. The craze stress itself is calculated assuming that both slip line plasticity theory and the simple von Mises yield criterion are both applicable. The second test, used to determine the effect of solvent on crazing, is a surface crazing test under simple tension in which the strain...

In most cases, routine problems can be solved with a polyaryl-etheretherketone (PEEK) capillary. However, PEEK is susceptible to attack by halogens and strong Brpnsted and Lewis acids as well as some halogenated compounds and aromatic hydrocarbons. A stainless steel capillary with additional protection of turbomo-lecular pump (admission of shielding gas) should be used in corrosive media (NH3, CI2, F2 etc.). Glass-lined plastic is the optimal choice when any undesirable reagent adsorption should be diminished. 

A relatively small amount of plastic is recycled on an annual basis in comparison to the production levels of plastic resins or the amount disposed in MSW landfills. It has been estimated that 340-400 million pounds of plastics were recovered or recycled in some fashion in 1989. Approximately 29 billion pounds were disposed in MSW. About half of die recycled plastic came from the recycling of PET beverage bottles (including the HOPE base cup on such bottles), and most of the remainder came from HOPE bottles, PET x-ray film and PP car battery cases. The amount of plastics recycled in comparison to the amount disposed is 1.3%, and in comparison to the annual production level of plastics in the U.S. is 0.6%. A review of the 15 primary resins produced in the U.S. shows that five of the above mentioned resins are disposed of primarily through MSW, and that the rem, lining plastics are generally destined for non-MSW disposal, i.e.
