The components of each factor can be evaluated at two levels of detail. An example of these levels for the factor "Procedures and Job Aids" is provided in Figure 2.12. If the question indicates that the first level (e.g., content and reliability) is deemed to be inadequate then more questions are available at the next level of detail (the topic level) to provide additional information on the nature of the problem. For each topic, further questions are provided at a greater level of detail. These detailed questions (diagnostics) are intended to pinpoint the precise nature of a deficiency and also to provide insights for remedial action. 

Incomplete Dissociation into Free Ions. As is well known, there are many substances which behave as a strong electrolyte when dissolved in one solvent, but as a weak electrolyte when dissolved in another solvent. In any solvent the Debye-IIiickel-Onsager theory predicts how the ions of a solute should behave in an applied electric field, if the solute is completely dissociated into free ions. When we wish to survey the electrical conductivity of those solutes which (in certain solvents) behave as weak electrolytes, we have to ask, in each case, the question posed in Sec. 20 in this solution is it true that, at any moment, every ion responds to the applied electric field in the way predicted by the Debye-Hiickel theory, or does a certain fraction of the solute fail to respond to the field in this way In cases where it is true that, at any moment, a certain fraction of the solute fails to contribute to the conductivity, we have to ask the further question is this failure due to the presence of short-range forces of attraction, or can it be due merely to the presence of strong electrostatic forces ... 

The results indicated certain correlations and generalities about plutonium that led to further questions regarding its chemical state in aquatic systems. Her past medical history is significant only for acne, and she takes no medications except occasional ibuprofen for menstrual cramps. On further questioning, you discover that she has a positive family history for hypertension and coronary artery disease. As you begin to discuss various contraceptive options with the patient, it is clear that she has a preference for an oral contraceptive agent. 

What further questions would be useful to ask CS before developing a care plan ... 

A 28-year-old woman with no significant past medical history presents to your clinic with complaints of sneezing, rhinorrhea, and nasal congestion persisting for the previous 3 weeks. On further questioning, she reports that the symptoms began this spring and worsen when she is outdoors. 

A 45-year-old female presents to a pharmacy with complaints of itching and wants a recommendation to treat it. Upon visual examination you see that she has erythematous papules on both legs. After further questioning, you learn that she has recently spent a great deal of time outside at a family picnic. She states that the picnic was in a wooded area near her home and that she and several others went on a short hike that day. She states that she was wearing shorts and "probably" came into contact with the grasses and weeds that lined the hiking trail. The rash appeared the same day as the picnic and she says that it seems to have spread since it first developed. From the information she has presented, you conclude that she has been exposed to poison ivy. 

On further questioning, you discover that the child is allergic to penicillin. She developed a nonurticarial rash last year during treatment for pharyngitis. She has not received antibiotics since that time, and this is her first ear infection. Immunizations Up to date Meds... 

The bimodal feature in the lower wavelength images is accounted for by the presence of the two processes for which evidence has been presented above. Research subjects may want to limit the research use of their materials and data to scientists they trust and ends of which they approve. It currently may take a lawyer s reading of the consent form to determine whether the materials and data may be shared or used for other purposes. Even if the form does limit who can use the research materials and data and for what purposes, the extent to which those forms can and will be enforced is limited. Minority groups with special concerns about the use of samples and data from their groups need to reach clear and enforceable understandings with researchers. Groups may want to limit the research use of their samples and data to the questions initially posed or further questions expressly approved by the group.
