Free distribution

The modular design integrates, as far as possible, existing software from member states, to permit the free distribution of the package. Version 1.0 of PSAPACK was used in a IAEA international training course on PSA in safety decisions (1988). Since then, PSAPACK evolved in response to users requirements, and has been widely distributed. 

A drawback of the Lagrangean artificial-viscosity method is that, if sufficient artificial viscosity is added to produce an oscillation-free distribution, the solution becomes fairly inaccurate because wave amplitudes are damped, and sharp discontinuities are smeared over an increasing number of grid points during computation. A government pubhcation which is a model of a useful index to technical material prepared both economically and quickly is the Department of Agriculture s Bibliography of Agriculture. It is issued monthly and is as comprehensive as its editors know how to make it. The February 1950 issue contains approximately 8000 different entries. An index is compiled annually in December.
