Form 222, electronic version

This method of data collection uses Portable Document Format (PDF) Forms. This approach is flexible and inexpensive. A number of commercial software packages such as Adobe Acrobat, LaText, and Microsoft Word and free software such as Python and R are used to create the PDF forms. Paper copies of the PDF forms may be used as an intermediate data collection. Electronic versions are completed at each site with Adobe Reader software. Completed forms are submitted on a CD or faxed as Extended Markup Language (XML)... 

Special attention was paid to the detection of residual Cu-fl quantities accompanying the metallic Cu. The relative amounts of Cu+1 and Cu were determined by curve-fitting the Cu (LMM) spectra using the Physical Electronics Version 6 curve-fitting program. The catalyst showed reduction of Cu+2 Into a mixture of Cu+1 and Cu after reduction In H2 at 250 C for one hour (Figure 6) as evidenced by the two resolved peaks In the Cu (LMM) spectrum at 568.0 and 570.3 eV which are characteristic of Cu and Cu+1, respectively, and by the disappearance of the Cu+2 2p satellite structure. It could be shown that less than 2%, If any, of the total Cu could be present In the +1 oxidation state during methanol formation. However, when the catalyst was briefly exposed to air (1 minute), a few percent of Cu+1 readily formed (7). Thus, any kind of oxidation environment has to be avoided between methanol synthesis and catalyst analysis. Otherwise, appreciable amounts of Cu+1 will be detected. 

Tubes with low transverse fins, about 1 mm high, can be used with advantage as replacements for plain tubes in many applications. The fins are formed by rolling, and the tube outside diameters are the same as those for standard plain tubes. Details are given in the manufacturer s data books, Wolverine (1984) and an electronic version of their design manual, www.wlv.com (2001) see also Webber (1960). 

An applicant may submit all or portions of the archival copy of the application in any form that the applicant and the FDA agree is acceptable. Submission of electronic versions of the application are welcome but should be discussed with the Office of Generic Drugs prior to actual submission. 

The final compilation of the OCAD to be included on the CD-ROM is in two forms, namely, hard copy (scanned into PDF) and electronic version (NIST MS Database). The electronic version of the database is the digital form of the data corresponding to the hard copy of MS and IR data. The GC(RI) data is part of the electronic NIST MS database. 

The electronic MS on-site databases are prepared from the certified electronic version of the OCAD (e-OCAD). This version is compiled using the NIST programs (NIST MS Search/Analysis and AMDIS) and is in the form of a NIST MS Database. The e-OCAD does not contain Gas Chromatography retention indices (GC(RI)) that are required for on-site use. To create an electronic MS onsite database, the certified version of e-OCAD, which at the moment contains only MS data, is merged with the certified (GC(RI)), which is in an excel spreadsheet. After merging these data, an AMDIS version of the database is created, which is compatible with the AMDIS software used by the on-site GC/MS equipment (for more details on the software, refer to Chapter 2 and Chapter 4) (5). The MS on-site database can be sent for an inspection as a whole database or as an extract of the whole database. AMDIS is software that is used by the GC/MS on-site equipment... 

The Dictionary of Carbohydrates, ed. P. M. Collins (see Section 1.2.1), is recommended for an overview of all the fundamental types of carbohydrate. Each compound is classified under one or more types of compound code, and perusal of the printed or electronic version can often resolve uncertainties of nomenclature. The dictionary also forms part of the Combined Chemical Dictionary. 

MicroChannel plate detectors (MCP). They consist of the union of a large number microchanneltrons arranged like honeycombs. This resembles an electronic version of a photographic plate. Each individual detector is formed... 

While many technical reference libraries have Beilstein in print form, it is more convenient to search for information in the electronic form of the database, hi addition, the printed series is no longer being updated. The electronic database allows a variety of searches on compounds and properties. Access to the electronic database is offered through CrossFire Beilstein [see http //www.mdl.com] or through the STN database system of the Chemical Abstracts Service [http //www.cas.org/stn.html]. Some details given in the print version (such as experimental methods) were not carried over to the electronic version, so in some cases it may be necessary to consult the print version or the literature citation for further information. 

An electronic record is any combination of text, pictures, data, audio or information represented in digital form that is created, modified, maintained, archived, retrieved or distributed on computer systems. These records were formerly printed, and the printed data became the master copy. The purpose of this regulation is to turn the emphasis toward the electronic version being the master. It must be possible to identify when, where and by whom changes are made to a record. This means that it must not be possible to make a correction that obscures the original entry nor should it be possible to amend the audit trail. 

This section refers to the MIS form that carriers must submit to a DOT agency when requested. The section refers the reader to Appendix H, which contains the entire form and complete instructions. The FMCSA used to have its own report form and instructions, but now 382.403 refers you to 40.26 for the form and instructions.

The questionnaire is administered, either in paper or electronic form, with the paper questionnaire distributed by the ANSP to all targeted staff (which is usually all staff in the ANSP, excluding external contractors). An electronic version of the questionnaire has also been developed. This is more efficient in the analysis stage but participation depends on the availability of computers for operational staff. The questionnaires are returned directly to an academic partner, currently the London School of Economics (until 2011 the University of Aberdeen provided this service), for analysis. The academic partner ensures that data analysis remains independent and thus provides additional assurance of confidentiality to ANSP staff, as neither ANSP nor EUROCONTROL persoimel see the raw data or filled-in questioimaires. 

The traditional paper filing systems allow the preservation of knowledge in static form. If the data in paper form are archived, it is possible to directly reproduce the data in human-readable form, over a long period of time. The process of recovery of the data from the archive and the comparison with the current data, however, is complex and the electronic version inferior in several ways.

Libraries of spectra can still be obtained in paper form, although electronic versions are rapidly gaining the ascendancy. Apart from the well-known collections by Sadtler, a useful single volume item is the IR/Raman atlas compiled by Schrader and Meier [21]. 

As in all process calculations, reliable property data are essential (but not a guarantee) for obtaining sound results. For drying, three separate databases are neees-sary for liquids (moisture), for gases, and for solids. Data for gases and liquids are widespread and are easily available in printed form (e.g., Yaws, 1999) or in electronic version. Relatively good property... 

Figure 10 provides a graph with the overall behaviour of the HMS system. This model can be seen in more detail in the electronic version of this Chapter.
