Foreign body conjunctival

Ophthalmic - Latanoprost-associated ocular adverse events reported at an incidence of 5% to 15% included the following Blurred vision, burning and stinging, conjunctival hyperemia, foreign body sensation, itching, increased pigmentation of the iris, punctate epithelial keratopathy. [Pg.2095]

Ciprofloxacin White crystalline precipitates lid margin crusting crystals/scales foreign body sensation itching conjunctival hyperemia bad taste in mouth corneal staining keratopathy/keratitis allergic reactions lid edema tearing photophobia corneal infiltrates nausea decreased vision. [Pg.2108]

Treatment of corneal ulcers, conjunctivitis and other superficial infections of the eye, pro-phylaxis after injuries to the eye/removal of foreign bodies, adjunctive therapy for trachoma and inclusion conjunctivitis Ophthalmic Solution l-Sdropstolowerconjunc-tival sac q2-3h. Seborrheic dermatitis, seborrheic sicca (dandruff), secondary bacterial skin infections Topical Ointment Apply small amount in lower conjunctival sac 1 -4 times/day and at bedtime. [Pg.1157]

Oxymetazoline is available as an ocular decongestant at the 0.025% concentration. Oxymetazoline has been demonstrated to be useful in patients with allergic conjunctivitis and has been demonstrated to improve symptoms of burning, itching, tearing, and foreign body sensation in patients with moderate to severe conjunctival hyperemia. Onset of action can be as early as 5 minutes after instillation, with peak effects at 60 minutes, and the effect can last up to 6 hours. Oxymetazoline 0.025% does not seem to alter lOP or affect pupil size or accommodation. [Pg.249]

Instillation of the dye in the cul-de-sac allows detection of corneal and conjunctival lesions, such as abrasions, ulcers, and edema, and aids in the detection of foreign bodies. When the cobalt blue filter of the slit lamp is used to excite the dye, the epithelial defect usually appears outlined in vivid green fluorescence. The dye turns green in the tear film, in spite of being introduced as a yellow-orange liquid, due to dilution with tear fluid. [Pg.284]

As with the evaluation of corneal abrasions, the application of one or two drops of 0.5% proparacaine is often necessary to allow adequate examination of the eye with a corneal or conjunctival foreign body, ft is advisable to obtain informed consent, preferably written, before proceeding with any minor surgical procedure. [Pg.322]

The most common ocular adverse effects of topical apraclonidine are conjunctival hyperemia, itching, foreign body sensation, and lacrimation. The most frequent systemic adverse effects are dry mouth and unusual taste perception (37-39). With para-aminoclonidine, headaches, attributable to ocular vasoconstriction, as well as anxiety, vomiting, dry mouth, tremor, and pallor, have been reported (40). [Pg.819]

Adverse effects reported in patients receiving intravitreal ganciclovir include foreign body sensation, conjunctival hemorrhage, mild conjunctival scarring, scleral induration, bacterial endophthalmitis, and retinal detachment (1). [Pg.1480]

In patients treated with pegaptanib sodium alone, ocular adverse events considered likely to be associated with intravitreal injection of pegaptanib sodium included vitreous floaters or haze, mild transient anterior chamber inflammation, ocular irritation, increased IOP, intraocular air, subconjunctival hemorrhage, eye pain, lid edema/ erythema, dry eye, and conjunctival injection. In patients treated with pegaptanib sodium and PDT, adverse events probably associated included ptosis (due to the contact lens), mild anterior chamber inflammation, corneal abrasion, eye pain, foreign body sensation, chemosis, subconjunctival hemorrhage, and vitreous prolapse. [Pg.256]

Fluress is a dye and a local anesthetic and is used for short comeal and conjunctival procedures such as removing foreign bodies from the eye. [Pg.425]

Mild burning was common in one retrospective review of topical azithromycin for adults with ocular rosacea [109 ]. While one RCT reported no adverse events post keratoplasty [110 ]. Another reported ocular adverse events in 40% contact lens-related dry eye patients, including conjunctival hyperaemia, conjunctival oedema, punctate keratitis, irritation, pain and foreign body sensation [111 ]. [Pg.372]
