Filter housings

TDF Drum Filter. This is a fairly conventional dmm filter housed in a vertical pressure vessel. Test data, obtained with the smallest model of only 0.75 m filtration area, is available (18). Larger models have also been announced, ranging up to the filtration area of 46 m and very large vessels. The operating pressures are moderate, up to 25 or 35 kPa, and the dmm speeds fairly conventional from 0.3 to 1.5 rpm. The range of dry cake production quoted is from 250 to 650 kg/m h for fine coal. 

Large units (other than custom units) are usually built up of standardized rectangular sections in parallel. Each section contains on the order of 1000 to 2000 ft" of cloth, and the sections are assembled in the field to form a single filter housing. In this manner, the filter can be partitioned so that one or more sections at a time can be cut out of service for shaking or general maintenance. 

Filter insert The replacement part of a filter medium that is inserted in the filter housing. 

The use of properly designed relief panels or free floating vessel covers are usually effective for dust explosions in silos tanks, filter housings, and the like. The design basis has been pre dousIy discussed. 

Three basic types of air filter are used viscous, dry and continuous. Viscous and dry units are similar in construction, but the filter medium of the viscous type is coated with a viscous material, such as a mineral oil, to retain the dust. The filters are made up from standard, preformed, sections, supported on a frame in a filter housing. The sections are removed periodically for cleaning or replacement. Various designs of continuous filtration equipment are also available, employing either viscous or dry filter elements, but in which the filter is cleaned continuously. In-mould assembly (IMA) of a filter housing saves assembly time and simplifies logistics. Cycle times were halved to under 30 seconds with this technology. 

Heat a crucible to full red heat by placing it on a stand and mounting a propane torch underneath. A number of items may be used as crucibles, such as a short length of steel pipe with cap, an old oil filter housing, or a small cast iron skillet. The latter is my personal choice.

Level I. Areas classified as class 100, critical areas, involve operations in which the sterilized product containers and closures are exposed to the environment. The most stringent quality standards are imposed upon areas directly over the filling/closing operation (in the filling suite). Curtains or shroud borders are attached to the perimeter of the HEPA filter housing to maintain the air quality of the critical area. This type of area includes the aseptic filling suites and the sterility test LAFH. The areas classified as level I are as follows ... 

Ready to sterilize) Filling occurs in controlled access rooms (level I, class 100) equipped with vertical flow HEPA filtration at the process steps. HEPA filters are located in the classified area over and around the container in-feed and filling/stoppering equipment. Shrouds are attached to the perimeter of the HEPA filter housing and extend below the equipment work surface to maintain air quality of the critical area (level I, class 100) for the filling lines. 

Autoclave. (ABC 009) serial no. (provide number) autoclave is utilized for sterilization of solution buffer vessels, filters, filter housings, closures, filling machine dosing system, and support equipment. The unit has a chamber size of (width x length x height) mm and (provide volume) liter capacity with dual interlocking doors.
