The resolution of images of the Real Time X-Ray system depend on the material thickness and on the settings of the system. While setting up the Real Time X-Ray inspection of parts the resolution is compared with the resolution aehieved in film bases X-Ray as used over the last years. It is demonstrated that the sensitivity of Real Time X-Ray meets the specification of DIN 54109 Bildgtitteklasse II. [Pg.457]

The linear relation between the PSL signal and neutron fluence was established to exist over three decades up to 6. lO cm. The IP-ND can be used as fast and efficient neutron monitors at rather low neutron fluxes. However, for neutron dosimetry individual IP-ND must be calibrated individually since their sensitiviy can differ from one plate to another. In Gd/film based direct NR the film fog below the exposure dose of about 8.10 cm is the limiting factor. [Pg.509]

Concerning the spatial resolution of NR images the present IP are not adequate to the best film based direct neutron imaging techniques. However, with time-and the development of new IP technology there are good possibilities to improve the inherent unsharpness of the IP systems to the level even better than with Gd/film combination ... [Pg.510]

Modem NDT film systems (with Pb screens) are very linear X-ray detectors. This is shown in fig.l for different NDT film systems and a X-ray tube at 160 kV. Note that for histoncal reasons the film response curve is often plotted as film density versus log (radiation dose), which hides this linear relationship. The film density is the difference between the measured optical film density and the fog density Db of the film base. [Pg.562]

Polypyromehitimide films based on cyclotriphosphazene and bisaspartimide-derived diamines have shown thermal stabiUties up to 800°C and char yields of 56—68% in N2 and 24% in air (29). High strength fine- and heat-resistant imide resins containing cyclotriphosphazene and... [Pg.532]

The principal chemical iadustry based on wood is pulp and paper. In 1995, 114.5 x 10 metric tons of wood were converted iato - 60 x 10 metric tons of fiber products ranging from newsptint to pure cellulose ia the United States (1,76). Pure cellulose is the raw material for a number of products, eg, rayon, cellulose acetate film base, cellulose nitrate explosives, cellophane, celluloid, carboxymethylceUulose, and chemically modified ceUulosic material. [Pg.331]

The cellulose esters with the largest commercial consumption are cellulose acetate, including cellulose triacetate, cellulose acetate butyrate, and cellulose acetate propionate. Cellulose acetate is used in textile fibers, plastics, film, sheeting, and lacquers. The cellulose acetate used for photographic film base is almost exclusively triacetate some triacetate is also used for textile fibers because of its crystalline and heat-setting characteristics. The critical properties of cellulose acetate as related to appHcation are given in Table 10. [Pg.259]

The made electrodes had linear characteristics of functions E = f(pC) and good selectivity of rhodamine electrode concerning fluorescein electrode and rice versa. The PPG electrodes had some better characteristics in selectivity and linearity than PPDA electrodes. The MIEP films based on PPG and PPDA may be used for separation of rhodamine and fluorescein mixtures. [Pg.322]

The commercial grades available in the 1970s used either zinc or sodium as the cross-linking ion and ranged in melt flow index from 0.4 to 14. The main application of the ionomer resins has been for packaging film. The polymer is particularly useful in composite structures to provide an outer layer with good heat sealability. The puncture resistance of film based on ionomer film has the puncture resistance of a LDPE film of twice the gauge. [Pg.278]

The optimum PVC that provides the best corrosion protection for the substrate is a strong function of the corrosion protecting mechanism. Figs. 8-10 represent primer films based on three different protection mechanisms, and indicate the appropriate formulating windows for each type of primer. [Pg.457]

Polymerization in aqueous solution of acrylamide can also be fulfilled in thin layers (up to 20 mm) applied on a steel plate or a traveling steel band. Polymerization is initiated by persulfates, redox system, UV or y radiation. Polymerization proceeds in isothermal conditions as the heat of polymerization is dissipated in the environment and, additionally, absorbed by the steel carrier. Nonadhesion of the polymer to the carrier is ensured by the addition of glycerol to isopropyl alcohol or by precoating the steel band with a film based on fluor-containing polymers. This makes polymerization possible at a high concentration of the monomer (20-45%) and in a wider process temperature range. This film of polyacrylamide is removed from the band, crushed, dried, and packed. [Pg.66]
