On occasion you will need to export your SAS data as ASCII text. You may find that the recipient of your data requires that you send some form of delimited ASCII text, because that is all their software can read. In fact, delimited ASCII text is a primitive data exchange format that almost any software can read. 

This is fundamental to the progress of genomics (and many other areas) of science. Generating data in a common exchangeable format, with a common lexicon of terms [47] in a single non-redundant location is a major goal. A number of examples exist, such as the DNA and protein sequence data in GenBank, EMBL or SwissProt [48-50].

BioPAX (http //biopax.org/), the group developing a common exchange format for biological pathways data, uses OWL. BioPAX can capture molecular binding interactions and manage small molecules (represented by InChl). Another example of RDF usage in chemistry is provided by the CombeChem project (Taylor et al. 2006).

Besides rearrangements, ligand exchange, formation of alkanes, alkenes and other products, release of cyclopropanes is one of the most important reactions of metallacyclobutanes. Using the XML export function, a work process model can be stored in a structured standard format, which is a universal exchange format for a number of software tools. As XML files can be easily rearranged or altered into a user-defined format by means of XSLT Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations, [602]), the XML export is useful when WOMS models are to be used by other software applications.
