The citizen suit provisions have also been revised to allow citizens to seek penalties against violators, with the penalties going to a U.S. Treasury fund for use by EPA for compliance and enforcement activities. The U.S. government s right to intervene is clarified and citizen plaintiffs will be required to provide the U.S. government with copies of pleadings and draft settlements. 

Alternatively, the regulatory authority may be a department or division of the executive branch. Authorities of this type are headed by a director, who is appointed by the head of the executive branch or ministry. Threats of Concern Terrorist acts can be the most problematic to defend against since they may be more extreme or malevolent than other crimes focused on monetary gains or outcomes with less malicious intent. Plus terrorists may use military tactics not often provided for in base chemical facility design. Chemical facility security must be considered in context with local and national homeland security and law enforcement activities, as well as with emergency response capabilities. There is a practical limit to the ability of a chemical site to prevent or mitigate a terrorist act. Above a certain level of threat, the facility needs to rely on law enforcement and military services to provide physical security against extreme acts of intentional harm. The security posture must be risk-based, and so extremely robust security measures are not always applicable or necessary. 

The enforcement in Denmark of EU Directives on food packaging materials is discussed. Enforcement activities considered include studies of total migration from food contact materials, migration from kitchen-and tableware made of melamine plastics and migration of di(2-ethylhexyl)adipate from plasticised PVC films. Activities which need to be undertaken to increase the effectiveness of enforcement activities in the field of migration are described, including development of selfinspection programmes in industry, European network of enforcement, more rapid analysis and provision of information to the consumer. 2 refs.

Most of the recent regulatory enforcement activity by the government pertaining to health care has focused on violahons of the False Claims Statutes, the Prescription Drug Marketing Act, or the Anti-kickback Statute. 

With the changing drug distribution structure, the compendial activities are continually revised to reflect these changes. More new standards are developed in the USP to provide guidance to the parties involved. Official chapters are also revised or updated to reflect ongoing changes in the packaging world. The compendial process is a continuous revision. The compendial requirements are provided to allow enforcement activities. 

The legislatures in North America and Hawaii do not pay very much attention to the usage of psychoactive mushrooms. The identification of species is often quite difficult, so that police enforcement activities primarily target misdemeanors such as parking violations and the willful destmction of fences around pastures. The latter is not uncommon during attempts to force entry into areas where Psilocybe semilanceata can be found.
