Other problems concerning transportation systems, waste processing and recycling systems, nahonal priorities, international economics, employment versus environmental quality, and personal freedoms will continue to surface. The choices will have to be made, ideally by educated citizens and charismatic leaders. 

A hierarchy of four main strategies can be used to reduce the waste within a process. This hierarchy establishes die priority order in which waste management activities should be employed ... 

Hyoscine (Scopolamine, Atroscine), Ci,H2i04N. The name hyoscine was first used by Hohn and Reichardt for the basie hydrolytic product of hyoscyamine, now known as tropine. It was subsequently used by Ladenburg for a supposed isomeridc of atropine, Cj HjgOjN, isolated from the mother liquors of hyoscyamine. This was found by Schmidt, Hesse and others to be identical with scopolamine, Ci,H2i04N, obtained by Schmidt from Scopolia japonica. The name hyoscine has priority and is in use, but scopolamine is also employed, especially in Germany.

Most health care workers are at risk for exposure to many diseases in the normal course of their work. Additionally, health care workers may transmit vaccine-preventable diseases to their patients. At the time of employment and on a regular basis, health care workers should be screened for immunity to measles, rubella, and varicella if found to be non-immune, the measles, mumps, and rubella, and varicella vaccines should be administered. The hepatitis B series should be given if not already completed. Tetanus should be updated and given every 10 years. Health care personnel in hospitals and ambulatory settings with direct patient contact should receive Tdap if not already received an interval as short as 2 years from the last tetanus-containing vaccine should be used. Priority for receiving Tdap should be given to personnel with direct contact with infants less than 12 months of age. 

OSHA/USEPA requires employers, such as the chemical industry service sector, to perform an initial process hazard analysis (PHA) on processes covered by PSM/RMP standards. The PHA must be appropriate to the complexity of the process and must identify, evaluate, and control the hazards involved in the process. Employers are required to determine and document the priority order for conducting process hazard analyses based on a rationale that includes such considerations as extent of the process hazards, number of potentially affected employees, age of the process, and operating history of the process. 

The term sociobiology is often employed as synonym for ethology to engulf the field under a new heading. This is an interesting development illustrating that the motivation for dominance finds its outlet even in interdisciplinary exchange. Fortunately the rules of priority still hold and we should stick to them in order to civilize competition.

In particular, the priority pollutant phenols (PPP), identified by EPA since the 1970s are widespread water pollutants that must receive the greatest attention due to their recognized toxicity. For the separation of eleven PPP, an ion-interaction reagent (HR) RP HPLC/UV method has been developed that allows limits of detection lower than 30 J,g in river waters, after LLE in dichlo-romethane and a 500-fold pre-concentration [82]. Through on-line SPE followed by both UV and electrochemical detection [83], 16 priority phenols have been determined in water samples with the LOD value for chlorophenols lower than 1 ng L [84]. LODs at ng L levels were obtained for all the PPPs in samples of river water, employing a relatively small volume of sample through an on-line SPE HPLC/MS method with an APCI source. 

There are insufficient data to detect differences among currently available RTV-boosted Pis (ATV/r, FPV/r, IDV/r, LPV/r and SQV/r) and the choice should be based on individual programme priorities (see text). In the absence of a cold chain, NFV can be employed as the PI component but it is considered less potent than an RTV-boosted PI. 

If optimum chiral separation conditions and high-efficiency sample cleanup are properly employed, the first priorities in enantioselective analysis have been achieved. Wherever practical, the Organic Chemistry priorities of substituents was employed. To a certain extent, this structure is arbitrary, of course.
