Emergency procedures, standard

A team consists of two or more people that know the process technology, design, operating procedures, practices, alarms, emergency procedures, test and maintenance procedures, routine and non-routine tasks. They must consider authorization and procurement of parts and supplies, safety and health standards, codes, specifications and regulations. The team leader provides m.iriagcment and goals to the process the team and consultants construct and interpret the analyses. [Pg.70]

As process plants become more complex, it becomes apparent that it is not possible to rely exclusively on the process worker s skills and memory required to perform the task. Job aids and procedures are devices which aim to reduce the need for human retention of procedures and references as well as the amount of decision making required. Job aids assume a variety of formats including flowcharts, checklists, decision tables, etc., while procedures refer to other systems of documentation such as standard operating instmctions and emergency procedures. [Pg.122]

Treatment begins with standard emergency procedures such as maintaining an airway, starting an IV line for blood sampling and drug administration, and so on.28 The first drugs administered are usually benzodiazepines lorazepam (Ativan) or diazepam (Valium)... [Pg.113]

The Readiness Review should check that safety, operating, and emergency procedures for any new operation have been written down. The standard also mentions maintenance procedures here, even though they are not identified elsewhere in the regulation. [Pg.125]

Standard operating procedures and emergency procedures have been developed or updated as needed to ensure safe operation of the new/modified process... [Pg.91]

The person responsible for the work being performed in the laboratory is to be a competent scientist. This individual shall develop and implement a safety and health program for the facihty that meets the requirements of the OSHA Laboratory Standard. The individual workers are to be fuUy trained in the laboratory procedures being employed and to have received special training in the risks specifically associated with the materials or work being performed. The workers are to be informed about the means available to them to detect hazardous conditions and the emergency procedures that should be foUowed,... [Pg.102]

With rule-based decision making, the clinician, pilot or operator has to identify the situation they are facing, but is then able to identify a learned set of rules or procedures that should be adopted. Pilots, for instance, are trained in a wide variety of both routine and emergency procedures that, once initiated, follow a standard pattern. Pilots of commercial airliners are expected to have memorized all standard emergency procedures, for which they will have rehearsed mentally and trained in practice in simulators where time allows, they are also expected to actually check the flight manual to ensure they follow the procedure to the letter. [Pg.334]

Make sure all fleet CMVs are equipped with the required emergency equipment, and that inspection of this equipment by your drivers becomes a standard part of your established pre-trip inspection. In addition, ensure all drivers are given adequate training on emergency procedures in the event they need to stop and secure their vehicle while on the road ( 392.22). [Pg.426]

The permit-required confined spaces standard defines a "confined space " lists specific employee training requirements, equipment, and personal protective equipment required prior to entry and communications and emergency procedures. Appendix A to the 1910 standard also includes an informative Permit-Required Confined Space Decision Flow Chart, as well as an example of a Confined Space Entry Permit. [Pg.408]

Since (1) the Nuplex 80+ Advanced Control Complex incorporates adequate and reliable instrumentation for the rapid detection of a Loss-of-Feedwater event by the plant operators and for monitoring the subsequent actions to achieve a safe shutdown, and (2), emergency procedure guidelines are provided for this event, this safety issue is resolved for the System 80+ Standard Design. [Pg.178]

The owner-operator of a nuclear power generating facility using a System 80+ Standard Design must meet the intent of NUREG-0737, Supplement 1, as supplemented by Generic Letter 82-33, by establishing emergency procedures which address the evaluation and development of procedures for transients and accidents. [Pg.307]

GSI II.K.l is a comprehensive issue covering a broad range of safety aspects of both plant design and emergency procedures. Each sub-issue which is applicable to the System 80+ Standard Design is identified in the following Table and cross-referenced to the particular USI and/or GSI which specifically addresses the sub-issue. [Pg.366]

This standard provides criteria for the administration of a nuclear criticality safety program for operations outside of reactors in which there exists a potential for criticality accidents. Responsibilities of management, supervision, and the nuclear criticality safety staff are addressed. Objectives and characteristics of operating and emergency procedures are included. [Pg.750]

One section of the Standard addresses emergency procedures. This was included because no other standard addres.sed this subject, and it was believed that if an alarm system is necessary, such procedures are also appropriate. [Pg.752]

Elements of the site control program. The site control program shall, as a minimum, include A site map site work zones the use of a buddy system site communications including alerting means for emergencies the standard operating procedures or safe work practices and, identification of the nearest medical assistance. Where these requirements are covered elsewhere they need not be repeated. [Pg.292]

A. Each year, your employer is required to inform you of the information contained in this standard and appendices for EtO. In addition, your employer must instruct you in the proper work practices for using EtO emergency procedures, and the correct use of protective equipment. [Pg.1149]

Objective and mission of the standard It is needless to state that critical requirements of lACS are to ensure that the system should never have the potential to cause impacts to essential services and functions, including emergency procedures. This is quite different from the requirements for IT security, which puts more emphasis on information—integrity, availability, and confidentiality. Accordingly, the mission for the standard will be to develop... [Pg.859]

The two new standards approved are the ANSi/ASSE A10.1 -2011 Pre-Project and Pre-Task Safety and Heaith Pianning for Construction and Demoiition Operations and the ANSi/ ASSE A10.26-2011 Emergency Procedures for Construction and Demoiition Sites. [Pg.14]
