Electronic data interface

Service - Chemicals are still purchased on a price per kilogram basis. The supplier offers additional services such as just-in-time delivery, direct electronic ordering via an Electronic Data Interface, routine analysis of process streams and advice on chemicals usage, etc. The supplier still has an incentive to sell more chemicals, but does have more to lose should the end user change supplier. [Pg.298]

The CIC connectivity standards are represented simply as the two interfaces between the POCT devices and information systems (Figure 12-11). The device interface passes patient results and QC information between the POCT instrument and devices, such as docking stations, concentrators, terminal servers, and point-of-care data managers. The latter have to be linked to a variety of information systems via the observation reporting interface or electronic data interface, for transmission of ordering information and patient results. [Pg.309]

The electronic data analysis service (ELECTRAS), which was developed at the Com-puter-Chemie-Centrum of the University of Erlangen-Ntlmberg through a project supported by the DFN-Verein and the BMBF, is a web-based application which presents an interface to various kinds of data analysis methods. It offers the methods... [Pg.449]

Electronic Data Acquisition System. Essential for the eflFective use of a MRSPC is an electronic data acquisition system that can interface directly with the photomultipler tubes and automatically detect the particles, calculate the ratios, and store the results. The function of the interface can be divided in two main parts ... [Pg.206]

Special emphasis has to be placed on interfacing electronic data management system with expert systems, specific client applications, or other data management systems. The focus lies on open and standardized communication technology. [Pg.320]

These devices for the measurement of functions and parameters of patients and medical devices and for alerting staff in case of incidents are called monitors . The transducer or sensor is the essential part which collects or picks up the information for the monitor by use of various physical or chemical methods and transforms it to an electrical signal. This signal will be processed by an electronic signal interface and fed to a data processor which presents the data to the user, stores the data, processes derived values, and originates alarms in the case of signal deviations from preset limits. [Pg.347]

MS is one of the main techniques used in chemical analysis nowadays [23-28]. Due to its capabilities in molecular identification and structure elucidation, as well as high sensitivity [29], it has already enabled important discoveries in chemistry and the biosciences. A mass spectrometer consists of three main parts an ion source, a mass analyzer, and a detector (Figure 1.1). They are supplemented with a number of auxiliary components, including interfaces for sample pre-processing and introduction, ion optic elements for manipulating ion beams, and electronic data acquisition systems. [Pg.3]

Interfaces between IT systems of enterprises involving all partners must be installed for coordinated communication with each other (Balling, 1998). By using standardised messages in the frame of Electronic Data Interchange for Administration Commerce and Trade (EDIFACT), bilateral adjustments become redundant (Hansen and Neumann, 2002). Therefore, cost can be saved and new cooperative partners can be won. [Pg.155]

Technical and organizational linkage to retailers Problems are solved by the responsible persons of the involved operational departments. Common ECR-activities undergo an intensive coordination by our and the retailer s stuff. Technical interfaces for an electronic data interchange with retailers exist. 0.78... [Pg.156]

Interfaces of elements are always given by the nature of electronic systems. Those interfaces must be specified in order to assure, that systems could realize the intended functions. A mere software component only exists because it is defined like that. The low level driver (e.g. MCAL microcontroller abstraction layer), which read the information from the microcontroller hardware and provide the data interface to further software components, these software elements built the hardware-software-interface (HSI). Mere electronic parts could not be considered without their interfaces to mechanical elements, such as PCB, connectors etc. This means, no matter at what horizontal abstraction level electronic are considered, there will always be mechanical intersections. Even the bonding (connection between the silicon and the pin) in a microcontroller or ASIC primarily depends on the production process, which creates the mechanical connection. The example of the hardware software interface shows how deep we have to go into the details of the components in order to ensure sufficient coverage and sufficient unique level of specification. [Pg.182]

Figure Bl.22.4. Differential IR absorption spectra from a metal-oxide silicon field-effect transistor (MOSFET) as a fiinction of gate voltage (or inversion layer density, n, which is the parameter reported in the figure). Clear peaks are seen in these spectra for the 0-1, 0-2 and 0-3 inter-electric-field subband transitions that develop for charge carriers when confined to a narrow (<100 A) region near the oxide-semiconductor interface. The inset shows a schematic representation of the attenuated total reflection (ATR) arrangement used in these experiments. These data provide an example of the use of ATR IR spectroscopy for the probing of electronic states in semiconductor surfaces [44]-... Figure Bl.22.4.
