ETFE resins are manufactured by several companies under different tradenames AG Fluoropolymers (Aflon ), Ausimont (Halon ET), Daikin (Neoflon ET), DuPont (Tefzel ), and Dyneon (Dyneon ETFE ). [Pg.44]

Chemically, THV Fluoroplastic (hereafter referred to as THV) is a terpolymer of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE), hexafluoropropylene (HFP), and vinylidene fluoride (VDF) produced by emulsion polymerization. The resulting dispersion is either processed into powders and pellets or concentrated with emulsifier and supplied in that form to the market.91 Currently, the manufacturer is Dyneon LLC and there are essentially nine commercial grades (five dry and four aqueous dispersions) available that differ in the monomer ratios and consequently in melting points, chemical resistance, and flexibility. [Pg.50]

Comercial ETFE dispersion offered by Dyneon LLC under the designation Dyneon ET X 6425 has solids content of 20% and density 1.10 and contains nonionic surface active ingredients (for details see Publication 98-0504-1025-1, 4/00 by Dyneon LLC). [Pg.124]

The thermal stability of fluorocarbon elastomers also depends on their molecular structure. Fully fluorinated copolymers, such as copolymer of TFE and PMVE (Kal-rez), are thermally stable up to temperatures exceeding 300°C (572°E). Moreover, with heat aging this perfluoroelastomer becomes more elastic rather than embrittled. Eluorocarbon elastomers containing hydrogen in their structures (e.g., Viton, Dyneon, and DAI-EL EKM) exhibit a considerably lower thermal stability than the perfluori-nated elastomer. Eor example, the long-term maximum service temperature for FKM... [Pg.97]

Mixed stocks should be used promptly or stored at temperatures below 18°C (65°F) to prevent scorching, and great care should be taken to exclude moisture. Typical roll temperatures for calendering recommended for Viton E-60C or related Dyneon types are as follows [50] ... [Pg.109]

Coatings and sealants for varied industrial applications are made by dissolving compounds of low-viscosity FKM elastomers (e.g., Viton C-10, Viton A-35, Dyneon 2145) in methyl ethyl ketone, ethyl acetate, methyl isobutyl ketone, amyl acetate, or other related ketones [68], Such products have typical useful storage life of 7 days at 24°C (75°F) and cure within 2 weeks [80], This subject is covered in more detail in Modern Fluoropolymers (Scheirs, J Ed.), Chapter 23 (Ross, E. W. Jr. and Hoover, G. S.), John Wiley Sons, New York (1997). [Pg.122]
