Supply-demand integration

There is a lack of having an integrated concept of managing volumes and values across the entire value chain. The specialized concepts with focus either on demand and supply decisions or on value analysis have to be combined to an integrated approach. This integrated approach is required to manage a global commodity value chain end-to-end by values and volumes. [Pg.51]

However, a focus shift from supply to demand would again not consider the overall profitability of the value chain leaving out supply volumes and values supply specifically in procurement. Concluding, a focus on either demand or supply is not sufficient and both have to be managed in an integrated way together with the resulting values. Therefore, the different... [Pg.52]

For each policy specification, the technology matrix of the integrated industry model is transformed from the productive structure existing before the policy change to the productive structure existing after the policy change. This structural transformation is the master key to identifying the economic demands and supplies of the industries modeled. Identification is necessary to soundly estimate (1) the economic demands for crude oil, natural gas, coal, water, and capital (2) the economic costs of pollution control for major water and air pollutants and (3) the economic supplies of the endproducts in the model. [Pg.121]

This chapter presents regional hydrogen demand and supply build-up scenarios over time which were created for Europe by considering the available resources as well as national policies and stakeholder interests. The purpose is to evaluate different infrastructure options in economic terms and to derive recommendations for introducing hydrogen as a transport fuel in the next decades. This chapter is based on the EU project HyWays. The objective of HyWays, an integrated project co-funded by research institutes, industry and the European Commission under the... [Pg.221]

Tried to get precise on imprecise data. Supply chains of the future will be based on ranges, they will dance agilely with error and adapt to changing supplier demands. The future is not the integrated supply chain instead, it is about new forms of predictive analytics to deal with uncertainty. [Pg.56]

A structured and integrated framework companies can use to assess their supply chain in light of Demand Driven Supply Chain concepts. [Pg.2]

Based on Wallace (2004), Sales and Operations Planning (S OP) is a business process that helps companies keep demand and supply in balance. It does that by focusing on aggregate volumes (e.g., product families or product groups), so that, mix issues (individual products and customer orders) can be handled more readily. It occurs on a monthly cycle and displays information in both units and dollars, thus it integrates operational and financial planning. [Pg.53]

A CPFR solution must be integrated with the enterprise systems of record that produce and consume demand and supply chain data, as illustrated in the Fig. 4.15. [Pg.64]

An advanced S OP tool integrates information of company demand and supply plans with both customers and suppliers IT systems. [Pg.126]

This research also developed a formal framework to support companies in designing a supply chain strategy that will allow them to move towards a demand driven supply chain. This firamework is integrated with the assessment process of both current and future states proposed in this thesis, and should be used as part of the annual planning cycle. [Pg.179]

This book aims to identify and describe the key components of demand driven supply chains, and based on these components, develop a structured and integrated assessment framework that companies can use to assess their current and desired future supply chain states in light of the Demand Driven Supply Chain (DDSC) concepts, and to define a supply chain strategy to move towards a customer centric operation, cost effectively. [Pg.195]

The internal services component delivers the integrated demand chain/supply chain, where value chain partners work together to deliver maximum customer value in the most effieient and effective manner. Here, partners aim to deliver service quality and the serviee as a quality, financially accountable paekage. [Pg.82]

Missions, listed at the top of Table 6.1, are broad in nature. The supply chain manager may have none of these, one, a few, or all those on the list of four missions. Chapter 1 described SCM as a function that integrates supply and demand management within and across companies. Does that mean that for companies at any supply chain position in Figure 6.2, a single manager should have that job description This is a decision many face, particularly if the job is described as end-to-end operating responsibilities. ... [Pg.82]
