Degradation parameters

Cheng et al. [116] reported that the structure of primaquine phosphate irradiated with 0.7—10 Mrad remained unchanged. The energy transfer action of the quinolyl group was considerable due to its resonance stabilization. Radiation-induced degradation of polyl(vinyl alcohol) decreased in the presence of primaquine phosphate but the degradation mechanism was unaffected. The content of primaquine phosphate showed linear relationship with degradation parameters of poly(vinyl alcohol). [Pg.196]

In quantitative degradation studies, in order to separate electronic from steric effects, the Taft equation, relating the degradation parameter Vm to steric r°v, inductive o(, and resonance crr parameters, was used ... [Pg.94]

Recent precipitation parameters common to Indiana have been used to establish the experimental criteria ( ). These included such data as acid content, meteorological data and conditions, chemical composition of the precipitation, etc. Only one degradation parameter was focused upon the cause and effect interaction of pure in leaching structural materials common in Indiana, including bronze, marble, and Indiana limestone. Quantitative data on the contribution of can then be selectively isolated from the overall effects of the complex environmental matrix. With this initial step, the effects of further matrix components (whether cations, anions, or compounds), acting both individually and/or syner-gistically, can then be pursued. [Pg.286]

Spatial Variability of Pesticide Sorption and Degradation Parameters... [Pg.104]

A typical field site, varying in area from about 1 to 10 ha, may include several soil series. The model parameter values may be different not only for each of these soil series, but may also vary considerably within a single series. Such variability in a number of soil hydraulic properties (e.g., soil hydraulic conductivity, soil water flux, etc.) has been widely reported in the literature ( 5 - 1 ). The model parameter values for a given location in the field may also vary with profile depth depending upon soil horizonation as well as a function of the soil and environmental factors (e.g., soil aeration, temperature, etc.). Since soil and environmental factors undergo dynamic changes with time, model parameters are also expected to exhibit temporal variability. At present, only limited data are available to characterize such spatial and temporal variability in pesticide sorption and degradation parameters required in several simulation models. [Pg.105]

In this paper, we will discuss data collected as a part of two recent field studies, one in Georgia and the other in Florida. The objective of both studies was to monitor the environmental dynamics of pesticides in the crop root zone and to use these data to evaluate the predictive capability of several simulation models. Specific attention will be focused on the data characterizing the spatial variability of pesticide sorption and degradation parameters measured at these two field sites. [Pg.105]

The effects of technological processes were quantified only for the dry matter, the degradability parameters (for nitrogen, dry matter and starch) and the true intestinal digestibility of undegraded proteins. These values, and the PDI and the AADI values derived from them, are therefore different between the processed and the unprocessed feed material. [Pg.291]

The comparison of thermal oxidative degradation parameters for PP/MWNT with layered silicate PP/montmorillonite (MMT) showed that the values of activation energy of the second and the third stages are higher for PP/MWNT ... [Pg.31]

A number of decompositions of polymers are also described in Sect. 3.4 (Fig. 3.49). It is possible not only to use thermogravimetry to measure the thermal stability and life-time (see Sect. 4.6.6), but also to identify polymers by their degradation parameters such as temperature, degradation products, char residue, evolved gases, differences in reaction with O2 and other gases, etc. [Pg.439]

Ageing effects may be detected by a change in measurable parameters. For example, increase in temperature or pressure may be an indication of die accumulation of corrosion products in the tube of a heat-exchanger and instrument drift may be an indication of electronic component degradation. Parameters should be measured periodically in a consistent manner and the readings should be compared and assessed. Physical parameters, such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, control rod drop times, radiation level (e.g. neutron and gamma), water quality, are indicators of the state of a system, structure or component. [Pg.21]

Now that we have defined how to calculate the axial compressor effieieney, it remains to apply it as a rule to monitor the compressor s performance. We propose to use a degradation parameter defined as ... [Pg.337]

The flow rate degradation parameter to monitor over time is defined as ... [Pg.338]

Hence, we can measure the fuel flow, correct both the fuel flow and power to ISO conditions, and then eompare the results to the expected fiiel consumption from Figure 4. The deviation in this case is the degradation parameter we ean monitor over time. The problem most will face for this rule is a reliable measurement of the fuel flow rate. Many installations either have missing or inaccurate fuel meters. This can be substituted for by ealeulating the fuel flow. For machines with Mark V or VI controllers, we can use the choking condition on the gas control valve (GCV) to do this. A robust approach then would be to compare the calculated to the measured value (if available) and use it accordingly in the fuel consumption rule. [Pg.340]

By maintaining constant the vessel section and modifying the height of liquid column, a direct dependence of the chemo-acoustic degradation and degradation parameters, as effect of the different distribution of the elastic energy in the reaction medium [1112]. [Pg.236]

The main thermal degradation parameters, PPy content estimated by thermogravi-metric analysis (TGA) and electrical conductivity of pure BC and composites are given in Table 5.4. [Pg.144]

Such an approach to modeling allows each asset to have its own scale parameter, Ui and degradation parameter thus acknowledging the heterogeneity within the asset pool due to variation in asset type and operational environment. [Pg.173]

Equation (16) allows the impact of the error assessment of the degradation parameter to be established. Since e=Q for an unbiased expert judgment, the ratio between the expected mean and the true mean is 1. However, an expert who under (over) estimates degradation would have a negative (positive) . [Pg.175]

Traditional PHM extracts performance degradation pattern from real-time monitoring signal data or acquire degradation parameter data directly. We consider a two-component parallel system. The degradation parameters of components, as described in detail in section 2, are given in Table 1. Component 2 deteriorates more rapidly in average with the average degradation rate is 9. When the parameter of the Levy copula ff is set equal to 10, there is a strong dependence between the two components. The characteristic parameters of the various implemented maintenance policies are described in Table 2. [Pg.1286]

In order to determine the failure degradation of pyrotechnics in the storage process, the sensitive parameters is chosen as degradation parameters. A certain pyrotechnics has two sensitive parameters at most, usually one. When the sensitive parameters can t meet the design requirement, the degradation failure occurs. Thus the sensitive parameters must have following properties ... [Pg.1829]
