Customers 80/20 rule

This letter is forwarded after obtaining the trial approval, so the PC will appraise only whether the drug is necessary for the trial. The term of issue of the approval is not stipulated. Taking into account changing customs rules, it seems preferable to entrust logistical problems to a Ukrainian contract research orgami-zation (CRO) or other native representatives of the sponsor (e.g., local employees or representatives of the company). [Pg.788]

Computational alerts can be extended from having rules that predict absorption properties only to customized rules that include distribution and toxicity. Here, we will consider in silico models for four types of toxicity. When the hits in the ADM E rules are combined with additional rules for estimated toxicity, we generate a more general computational ADMET Risk. ... [Pg.473]

Finally the Guideline Add-on is to provide best practices support by means of a module that collects and shares them. It shall include guidelines for software failure analysis, UML usage, requirements specification, lessons-learned from functional tests, etc. It shall support the addition of custom rules, policies and recommendations which are part of a company s specific policies and procedures. [Pg.107]

The process of developing formal policy is political and related to the enactment of laws, regulations, and guidelines. By way of contrast, informal policies emerge because of the way people in institutions pursue daily actions. These take the form of routines, customs, rules, and other regularities that determine what is and is not done in a setting, and those that endure over a lengthy period of time can be characterized as the institution s culture (Adelman et al., 1999). [Pg.24]

Protocol problems may exist for market researchers in a company. Often company poHcy dictates that any call on a customer requires the agreement of the sales department and the presence of a sales representative at the actual meeting. Similarly, if calls are to be made on suppHers, purchasing department approval and attendance are often necessary. These rules can delay or lessen opportunities for a useful dialogue but their existence must be recognized and coped with in the field. [Pg.534]

Note that you may be covered by the supplier notification rules even If you are not covered by the section 313 release reporting requirements. For example, even if you have less than 10 full-time employees or do not manufacture or process any of the chemicals in sufficient quantities to trigger the release reporting requirements, you may still be required to notify certain customers. [Pg.93]

A system is an ordered set of ideas, principles, and theories or a chain of operations that produces specific results to be a chain of operations, the operations need to work together in a regular relationship. A quality system is not a random collection of procedures (which many quality systems are) and therefore quality systems, like air conditioning systems, need to be designed. All the components need to fit together, the inputs and outputs need to be connected, sensors need to feed information to processes which cause changes in performance and all parts need to work together to achieve a common purpose i.e. to ensure that products conform to specified requirements. You may in fact already have a kind of quality system in place. You may have rules and methods which your staff follow in order to ensure product conforms to customer requirements, but they may not be documented. Even if some are documented, unless they reflect a chain of operations that produces consistent results, they cannot be considered to be a system. [Pg.160]

The corrective action requirements fail to stipulate when corrective action should be taken except to say that they shall be to a degree appropriate to the risks encountered. There is no compulsion for the supplier to correct nonconformities before repeat production or shipment of subsequent product. However, immediate correction is not always practical. You should base the timing of your corrective action on the severity of the nonconformities. All nonconformities are costly to the business, but correction also adds to the cost and should be matched to the benefits it will accrue (see later under Risks). Any action taken to eliminate a nonconformity before the customer receives the product or service could be considered a preventive action. By this definition, final inspection is a preventive action because it should prevent the supply of nonconforming product to the customer. However, an error becomes a nonconformity when detected at any acceptance stage in the process, as indicated in clause 4.12 of the standard. Therefore an action taken to eliminate a potential nonconformity prior to an acceptance stage is a preventive action. This rules out any inspection stages as being preventive action measures - they are detection measures only. [Pg.450]

Particularly if the industry is government regulated (i.e., pharmaceuticals), but also if the supply contract with the customer stipulates numerical specification limits for a variety of quality indieators, the compliance question is legal in nature (rules are set for the method, the number of samples and repeat determinations) the analyst can then only improve precision by honing his/her skills,... [Pg.10]

At this stage we can apply specific filters to customize the UltraLink for any application from which it was called. Because the UltraLink is a Web service that can be called by any application, we have rules defining its behavior based on the calling application. This means that certain value pairs described above can be removed based on explicit rules when the UltraLink is called from an application that should provide only a restricted navigation capability. [Pg.739]

The corrosion allowance is the additional thickness of metal added to allow for material lost by corrosion and erosion, or scaling (see Chapter 7). The allowance to be used should be agreed between the customer and manufacturer. Corrosion is a complex phenomenon, and it is not possible to give specific rules for the estimation of the corrosion allowance required for all circumstances. The allowance should be based on experience with the material of construction under similar service conditions to those for the proposed design. For carbon and low-alloy steels, where severe corrosion is not expected, a minimum allowance of 2.0 mm should be used where more severe conditions are anticipated this should be increased to 4.0 mm. Most design codes and standards specify a minimum allowance of 1.0 mm. [Pg.813]

This expression is a simple generalization of the argument deve Section 2.7. It, and its extension to functions of any number of is referred to as the chain rule . In many applications it is customs) one or more subscripts to the partial derivatives to specify the one variables that were held constant As an example, Eq. (45) becomes... [Pg.234]

All societies have their rules of play their institutions. These institutions can be defined as the restrictions created by humanity to give structure to political, economic and social interaction. A society s institutions are at the same time its rules of play and its safeguard mechanisms. They can be formal, such as the Constitution, laws, property rights and ethical codes, or informal, such as customs, traditions and expected codes of conduct in a professional group. [Pg.169]

However, in direct customer communications, Chemicon has, at least in the past, allowed a higher ripple current than the rating. But the life calculation method given is then slightly different. This amounts to a special doubling rule every 5°C, which we will describe below using a practical example. [Pg.106]

These spiced buns with dried fruit in them are another product with a history. In the Middle Ages it was the custom to make buns with a cross on them. These buns assumed a mystical significance that caused the Cromwell s puritans to ban them, except for immediately before Easter. Small bakers generally keep to this rule while supermarket in store bakeries sell them for a much longer period of time. [Pg.202]

Tins of biscuits, particularly with a decorative tin, are a popular gift and souvenir item. Some years ago HM Customs and Excise attempted to claim that while the biscuits were a food the decorated tin was not a mere packaging but a separate supply and should pay VAT at the standard rate. This was a serious issue for the retailer concerned since Customs and Excise were demanding the VAT that the retailer had not collected Eventually, the retailer won and the tins were ruled to be packaging. [Pg.223]

From the different planning methods available within SNP, SNP optimization is selected because it offers the best fit to the customer requirements outlined above. The main reasons for this decision are the multisourcing characteristics of the supply network as well as the fact that the objective functions used by the SNP optimizer, profit maximization or cost minimization, correspond to the planning philosophy favored by the customer. In addition to SNP optimization with its cost-based approach, SNP offers several heuristic-based planning methods which follow a rule-based logic. [Pg.248]
