Current Contents

SCISEARCH contains bibliographic citations (links) to publications in science and technology. The database represents the electronic online version of the expanded Science Citation Index (SCI) and parts from the Current Contents of the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI). More than 5900 science and technical journals are included in the database with more than 20 million records (October, 2002). Searches can be performed on the bibliographic data, along with where, and how often, an author or publication is dted. 

For application in flowing media (e.g., for ships) it is also necessary that the usable current content be as large as possible not only per unit of mass but also per unit of volume, so that the volume of the installed anodes becomes as small as possible.

The life of the magnesium anodes with a current content of about 1.2 A a for 10 mA according to Table 6-4 was calculated from Eq. (6-9) as 120 years. The Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), besides publishing Current Contents (p. 1611) and the Science Citation Index (p. 1637), also publishes Index Chemicus (formerly called Current Abstracts of Chemistry and Index Chemicus). This publication, begun in 1960 and appearing weekly, is devoted to printing structural formulas of all new compounds appearing in more than 100 journals, along with equations to show how they were synthesized and an author s summary of the work. Each issue contains five indexes author. 

Title pages of organic chemistry journals are also carried by Current Contents Life Sciences, which is a similar publication covering biochemistry and medicine. 

Bibliographic Indices. This publication is listed in bibliographic services, including Current Contents and PubMed/MEDLINE. 

NIDA Researeh Monographs are indexed in the Index Medicus. They are selectively ineluded in the coverage of American Statistics Index, Biosciences Information Service, Chemical Abstracts, Current Contents, Psychological Abstracts, and Psychopharmacology Abstracts.

To make this whole process easy I have added to my program three subroutines, FILER, STARTER, and STOPPER. Subroutine FILER first lists the available files with the suffix. PRN. PC-Based Information Products Floppy Disk Based. We currently have ready access to a rapidly growing variety of relevant information resources. From a current awareness perspective, an excellent source of weekly information is the floppy disk-based product called Current Contents on Diskette (CCOD). Several versions are available however, the Life Sciences version is most appropriate for this review because of its coverage, on a weekly basis, of over 1200 journals describing work in the biological sciences. One will note that the product has several useful features, including very quick retrieval of article citations as well as several output options (including either hard copy or electronic storage of references as well as reprint requests).

Approximately 1995 monoterpenoid-related papers were retrieved from the page-by-page search of 135 titles published since compiling the previous Report (Vol. 7, p. 3) to August 1977 and available to early November 1977 additional papers were retrieved via Current Abstracts of Chemistry and Index Chemicus, and relevant sections of Current Contents, Physical and Chemical Sciences, and Chemical Abstracts. 1210 of these papers provided the core upon which this Report is based.
