Don t handle bearings by hand. It s best to use clean cotton gloves. 

Occasionally, hand exposure must be tested while wearing protective gloves. This may be easily accomplished by wearing the protective gloves over the top of the cotton gloves. 

Many types of matrices have been used in the past to measure the field stability of the test substance. Cotton gloves, cellulose patches, face wipe handkerchiefs and/or gauze face wipe matrices, long underwear (inner dosimeters), pants, shirts, coveralls (outer dosimeters), sorbent tubes, urine, and other matrices are common matrices that have been used for this purpose.

Sodium chlorite solution is a powerful oxidizer and can react explosively with acidic materials. It should be stored safely, ideally out of the direct heat of the sun and away from all other materials. Spills and bulk tanks should not be permitted to dry out. Any contact of crystalline sodium chlorite with organics such as oil, solvents, wood, or cotton gloves can result in a fire or an explosion. 

Once a part has been coated with a primer, it must be handled only with clean cotton gloves, preferably in a noncritical area. Parts that have had a long period between coating and molding may have to be freshened with a thin coat of primer.

The condition of the standard is equally important. Is the standard dirty Does it have fingerprints on it Is it scratched or physically abused Is the color standard old Try to obtain another color standard if the answer to any of these questions is yes. A current, clean, well-cared-for standard is essential to a successful visual color match. It then becomes equally important that the color standard be stored under optimum conditions. These include storing in the absence of all light in a clean, dry environment away from heat along with careful minimal handling, even to the extent of handling only with clean, soft, cotton gloves.

Emollients can easily be rubbed off hands and feet, particularly in bed when they may damage bedclothes. This can be reduced by wearing cotton gloves after application and by wrapping the feet in cling film and wearing socks. 

After you clean the board, be sure not to touch the copper surface with your fingers as this will leave minute traces of oils and dirt that can interfere with the processes of image transfer, plating, and the electrical performance of the surface. A good habit for working with copper clad is to wear clean thin cotton gloves to protect the surface of the board while you handle it. 

Exercise care when handling the MEAs. It s a good idea to wear cotton gloves so that you do not get any oil, sweat or other contaminants on the membrane and catalyst. If you purchase MEAs from Element 1, the anode side is marked as you can see in the photo. All anodes must face the hydrogen electrode plate.

In manufacturing processes where the personnel may come in direct contact with the product or starting material, masks and cotton gloves or sterilized rubber gloves must be worn. 

The reaction mixture is cooled for 5 min in a solid C02/acetone bath, and then the tube is inverted to filter the cooled mixture. The round bottom flask is then immersed in the cooling bath to pull the solvent through the frit. The tetramesityldisilene that remains on the side of the photolysis tube is washed into the frit by condensing solvent onto the side of the tube. This is best done by soaking a pair of cotton gloves in liquid nitrogen and applying it to the side of the tube. This process is repeated until all the tetramesityldisilene is washed into the filter frit. 

The First Study. Forest-applicator exposure to MSMA and cacofirst studied by Tarrant and Allard (9). They collected individual urine samples on Monday mornings ari7 Friday afternoons for 9 consecutive weeks from five applicators (each using a different combination of application method and chemical) and one control. Workers were supplied with clean clothes daily, including two pair of cotton gloves (to be changed at noon, or earlier if one pair became substantially contaminated with herbicide). Complete data were obtained for weeks 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8 (except for the injection hatchet-cacodylic acid combination, which was not included in the analysis). 

Allard ( U) conducted a second round of tests to determine how As levels in urine could be reduced through worker training and improved protection. In this test, applicators wore goggles, used an impervious face cream, and were instructed in better techniques for handling of both herbicide concentrate and application equipment. In addition, two groups used rubber gloves instead of cotton gloves. 

Arsenic levels in urine were substantially reduced in all crews but the Kaniksu (Table II). It was concluded from periodic observations and Interviews of crew members and foremen that impervious gloves, skin cream, and effective training and supervision were the key factors. The foreman and the trainer of the Colville crew had been particularly effective As level in urine for that crew, which wore only cotton gloves, was similar to that of one crew wearing rubber gloves, and the nunber of observations > 0.3 ppm was only 1/3 that of a similar crew in the same area the previous year (Table I).
