Cost of reporting

When the cost of these studies is investigated it is seen that they are built up from the costs of investigations and the cost of report preparation. Especially for projects in which the necessary data is not present, investigation costs rise considerably. Hence, for the sake of less costly but more dependable EIA report preparation, databanks should be formed in the countries. Thus, all the data that is present for different regions of the country which can be used in determining the present situation in EIA reports, should be collected in... [Pg.451]

Availability of a representative set of data examples. Such a set may significantly simplify construction of any automatic interpretation system. The example data is usually obtained from calibration pieces, however, they usually represent only the most common defects and are usually expensive to manufacture. Recently more and more data is stored as digital inspection records, unfortunately the stored data is rarely fully classified, as this would increase the cost of inspection (usually only the serious defects are given full description in the reports). [Pg.98]

Figure 3 shows the production of acetaldehyde in the years 1969 through 1987 as well as an estimate of 1989—1995 production. The year 1969 was a peak year for acetaldehyde with a reported production of 748,000 t. Acetaldehyde production is linked with the demand for acetic acid, acetic anhydride, cellulose acetate, vinyl acetate resins, acetate esters, pentaerythritol, synthetic pyridine derivatives, terephthaHc acid, and peracetic acid. In 1976 acetic acid production represented 60% of the acetaldehyde demand. That demand has diminished as a result of the rising cost of ethylene as feedstock and methanol carbonylation as the preferred route to acetic acid (qv). [Pg.53]

Estimated production capacity for the Japanese producers is 77,000 t/yr for the American producers, about 70,000 t/yr and for the European producers about 50,000 t/yr (104). The Hst prices for the monomer have increased dramatically over the past 15 years, according to the ChemicalM.arketing Reporter (105). In 1975 the price for 50% solution was 0.903/kg, compared to 1.68/kg in December 1990 (100% basis, FOB plant). The sohd crystalline monomer always demands a premium price because of the added cost of production, and sold in December 1990 for 2.27/kg compared to 1.09/kg in 1975. There are at least 35 supphers of acrylamide monomer most of them obviously are repackagers. [Pg.136]

Foreign. The OECD/NEA and IAEA have issued annual reports on world uranium resources, production, and demand since the mid-1960s (2—6). NEA/IAEA data for reasonably assured and estimated additional resources at costs of 80 and 130/kg uranium are given in Table 2 (21). These estimates incorporate data from both former world outside centrally planned economies (WOCA) and non-WOCA nations. A summary of other known uranium resources with and without cost range estimates is provided in Table 3 (22). These resources total about 1.4 x 10 t and include estimates that are not strictly consistent with standard NEA/IAEA definitions. [Pg.185]

The variatioa of average pipeline coastmctioa costs with increasing size of line pipe is showa ia Figure 2, based oa data takea from FERC coastmctioa permit appHcatioas from July 1991 to July 1992. The cost of a common carrier pipeline project must be reported to the FERC ao later than six months after successful hydrostatic testing. [Pg.51]

Resource estimates are divided into separate categories reflecting different levels of confidence in the quantities reported, and further separated into categories based on the cost of production. A listing of uranium resources by country is given in Table 3. [Pg.315]

Direct Blues. Direct Blue 86, a phthalocyanine direct dye, represents a small but important segment of the direct dye stmcture groups. The dyes are brilliant greenish blue or turquoise shades. Sales of nearly 2 million were reported in the United States in 1988. Among the disazo blues. Direct Blue 80 (74) and Direct Blue 98 (75) were sold in 152 t and 107 t quantities at an average cost of 2.22 and 1.81/kg, respectively, in 1988. Table 7 and Figure 6 show some direct blues. [Pg.442]

Much more carbon dioxide is generated daily than is recovered (44). The decision whether or not to recover by-product carbon dioxide often depends on the distance and cost of transportation between the carbon dioxide producer and consumer. For example, it has become profitable to recover more and more carbon dioxide from C02-rich natural gas weUs in Texas as the use of carbon dioxide in secondary oil recovery has increased. The production levels for enhanced oil recovery are generally not reported because of the captive nature of the appHcation. [Pg.23]

Tin. Apphcation of tin on strip steel for can stock has decreased. Nevertheless, tin plating is still done in large volume, and tin plate for can stock was estimated at 11,750 t in 1990 (11). Additionally, 603 t of tin anodes were used for electroplating in electronic apphcations in the United States in 1990. The use of tin in solder manufacture is reported to exceed that used in can stock (12). The cost of tin in early 1993 was 7.50/kg (see Tin and tin alloys). [Pg.144]
