Table 4 shows that after model validation, the calculated mineral oil content for different paper products (newspaper, magazine, corrugated board, folding boxes from RCP for food and non-food applications) was in the range of the measured average values of about 20% and fits completely in the measured range of minimum and maximum values.

First, sheet corrugated board was shown to perform well in absorbing shock in tests in which three sheets of corrugated board were put into a small case and the cases used as shock absorbers for preventing the propagation of explosion from a detonator. Second, the safety of the new package was shown by applying the United Nations classification tests for explosives.

Utilization of Soda Bagasse Hemicellulose As Corrugated Board Adhesive... 

Soda bagasse spent liquor thus contains two useful renewable polymeric chemical feedstocks hemicellulose and lignin. The uses developed so far for these materials are depicted graphically in Figure 1. The use of the hemicellulose as a corrugated board adhesive is discussed in this chapter. 

The hemicellulose adhesives were evaluated on 50- by 100-mm2 A-flute corrugated board samples. Commercial single-faced board (125 to 160 g/m2) bonded with a maize starch adhesive and liner (160 g/m2) was obtained. The liner and fluting material were prepared from virgin kraft pulp and were not surface-sized with starch. The single-faced material was cut into samples (50 x 100 m2) with the flutes in the 50-mm direction. Liner samples were cut in 60- by 110-m2 samples.
