Correction of errors

In addition to this Textbook, a web page has been estabhshed which provides interesting information including list of URL s and figures (as PDF) to download, and details on chemoinformatics curricula. Moreover, it can also be used as a forum to obtain important information on the book, to find corrections of errors (if any), and to discuss aspects of chemoinformatics. The URL is http //www2. chemie.uni-er an%en.de/puh ications/ci-bQokfindex. html... [Pg.13]

The Notice of Errors. The first mechanism for correction of errors is called a "Notice of Errors." This document may be filed by the patentee after issuance of the patent with the U.S. PTO and references the patent number, issue date, and the errors contained in the patent. The purpose of a Notice of Errors is to clarify the examination history of the patent and such notice dispositively corrects any misspellings, or typographical errors or omissions. One example of a problem which may be clarified by a Notice of Errors is an omitted chemical bond in a compound used in an exemplary embodiment of the invention. In short, the error is obvious and easily corrected. [Pg.36]

For critical, high consequence systems, simulators are useful to practice diagnosis and correction of errors and abnormal conditions in emergency conditions (CCPS, 1994a). [Pg.110]

The main characteristics which determine the performance of a wavefront corrector are the number of actuators, actuator stroke and the temporal response. The number of actuators will determine the maximum Strehl ratio which can be obtained with the AO system. The price of a deformable mirror is directly related to the number of actuators. The actuator stroke should be enough to compensate wavefront errors when the seeing is moderately poor. This can be derived from the Noll formula with ao = 1.03. For example, on a 10m telescope with ro = 0.05m at 0.5 m, the rms wavefront error is 6.7 /xm. The deformable mirror stroke should be a factor of at least three times this. It should also include some margin for correction of errors introduced by the telescope itself. The required stroke is too large for most types of deformable mirror, and it is common practice to off-load the tip-tilt component of the wave-front error to a separate tip-tilt mirror. The Noll coefficient a2 = 0.134 and... [Pg.192]

Any process leading to the elimination or correction of errors in molecular structure, particularly as it applies to the sequence of monomeric units in nucleic acids and proteins as well as the synthesis of aminoacyl-tRNA s. [Pg.219]

Chromosome breakage may therefore be linked to other mechanisms of mutagenesis in some fundamental manner. The correction of errors involves breakage of the DNA molecule for both the "cut and patch" type of repair and for sister-strand exchange (Fig. 6.46). [Pg.267]

The quality assurance component is vital. Quality assurance (QA) is a process that involves the prevention, detection, and correction of errors or problems, and quality control (QC) is a check of the process (Prokscha, 2007). The data stored in the database need to be complete and accurate. Processes that check data and correct them (i.e., make a change to the database) where necessary need to be documented, and all corrections need to be documented in an audit trail such that a later audit can reveal exactly how the final database was created. [Pg.75]

In a double-bhnd, crossover, placebo-controlled study in 12 healthy men of the impact of alprazolam 0.25 and 1.00 mg on aspects of action monitoring, i.e. the monitoring of response conflict and the detection and correction of errors by means of neurophysiological measures, alprazolam significantly reduced the amplitude of the error-related negativity (ERN) and therefore affected brain correlates of error detection (18). It increased reaction... [Pg.392]

Software maintenance is not limited to the correction of errors. Maintenance activities cover corrective maintenance, adaptive maintenance, perfective maintenance, and preventative maintenance. [Pg.424]

I apologize to authors inadvertently misquoted and will attempt to correct errors in any future editions. As it is difficult to locate many references dealing with topics discussed in this text, I solicit comments and any pertinent information that may be useful for correction of errors or for the preparation of further editions and wish to thank those who have already provided me with manuscripts, reprints, unpublished material, suggestions, and assistance in preparing this present manuscript. Ultimately, of course, I stand responsible for the conclusions and statements made in this text. [Pg.766]

The project manager loses control of the project - in fact, he spends most of his time arguing with the client, usually to try to stop process and layout changes being made.
