Copier technology

Wonderful products supported by sloppy operations populate the "C" category. Xerox, when it invented copier technology, was in a C situation. Companies with completely new products often occupy this quadrant. Such companies are vulnerable to copycat competitors, just as Xerox was in time. For new products, competitors strive for the best product design. Leaders will have great product features and may do well at supply chain design. If they do, they ll move up to the A quadrant. 

While toner particles were used to exemplify a specific technology and lay the groundwork for discussing the scientific issues surrounding particle adhesion, the topic of particle adhesion extends far beyond copiers. For example, let us consider the fabrication of semiconducting devices. 

Study. Many of these supplies may be purchased at local supply stores or through research supply companies. Personal computers with Internet software, laptop notebooks, fax machines, and portable copiers should also be moved to the field laboratory to provide the field research staff with the most modem communication and office technology.

This process modifies PE to yield a PTFE-PE powder. Due to the electron acceptor properties of PTFE, the powder can be used as the negative charge carrier for plain paper copier toner technology.

Canon has three core competencies in (1) precision mechanics, (2) fine optics, and (3) microelectronics. Like Honda, Canon applies combinations of these to a score of products ranging from cameras to copiers.
