Thus, carrying out tests of the samples shows that the acoustic emission method is quite effective at the quality estimation of carbon plastic and its adhesive joints. Depending on the chosen diagnostic diagram of the construction material loading, the criteria parameters are K, S or AS (a C). 

Standard procedures that are used for testing of construction materials are based on square pulse actions or their various combinations. For example, small cyclic loads are used for forecast of durability and failure of materials. It is possible to apply analytical description of various types of loads as IN actions in time and frequency domains and use them as analytical deterministic models. Noise N(t) action as a rule is represented by stochastic model. 

The importance of polymer composites arises largely from the fact that such low density materials can have unusually high elastic modulus and tensile strength. Polymers have extensive applications in various fields of industry and agriculture. They are used as constructional materials or protective coatings. Exploitation of polymers is of special importance for products that may be exposed to the radiation or temperature, since the use of polymers make it possible to decrease the consumption of expensive (and, sometimes, deficient) metals and alloys, and to extent the lifetime of the whole product.

Materials of Construction for Bulk Transport Because of the more severe service, construction materials for transportation usually are more restricted than for storage. Most large pipe lines are constructed of steel conforming to API Specification 5L or 5LX. Most tanks (cars, etc.) are built or pressure-vessel steels or AAR specification steels, with a few of aluminum or stainless steel. Carbon steel tanks may be hned with rubber, plastic, nickel, glass, or other materials. In many cases this is practic and cheaper than using a stainless-steel tank. Other materials for tank construction may be proposed and used if approved by the appropriate authorities (AAR and DOT). 

General Considerations Most pressure vessels for the chemical-process industry will continue to be designed and built to the rules of Sec. T11, Division 1. While the rules of Sec. T11, Division 2, will frequently provide thinner elements, the cost of the engineering analysis, stress analysis and higher-quality construction, material control, and inspection required by these rules frequently exceeds the savings from the use of thinner walls.
