Frieficements (83), manufactured in Belgium, are produced as a wet slurry of finely ground slag. When activators such as Pordand cement, lime, or sodium hydroxide are added in a concrete mixer, the slurry sets and hardens to produce concretes with good strength and durabiUty. 

To prepare the SC mix, sulfur was heated in a one-bag capacity concrete mixer fitted with two 3,000 BTU propane burners. 

Jahjah [the prior art reference cited by the USPTO] combines the preformed foam into various cement and concrete mixtures wherein known aggregates may optionally be incorporated. Alternatively, fly ash may be introduced directly into the fresh concrete mix as a separate component, rather than as a constituent of the cement. To do this, Portland cement, fly ash, and mixing water, together with the aggregate, are mixed in the concrete mixer to produce fly ash concrete. 

Dry mixing— where the fibers are initially mixed with a fine dry aggregate (5 mm), then cement and silica fume added, followed by mixing in a Hobart industrial mixer for about 5 min. The mixing was completed in a concrete mixer to which the coarse gravel aggregate (25 mm) was added [9]. The silica fume helps the dispersion of the carbon fiber and reduces the porosity of the concrete, resulting in an improved bond. 

Although the consistency is defined by the VC value, this measurement is neither practical nor easy to estimate concrete properties of all mixes. In this respect, AE measurement was applied to estimate quiekly the consistency of fresh concrete during mixing, where AE sensor was attached directly to the outer surface of a concrete mixer. 

Portland silica fume cement Addition of silica fume can yield exceptionally high strengths, and cements containing 5-20% silica fume are occasionally produced. However, silica fume is more usually added to Portland cement at the concrete mixer. 

In premixed polymer concrete overlays, the aggregate and the monomer or resin system are mixed together in a concrete mixer and then spread over the surface and compacted. Sometimes, additional aggregate may be applied on the surface to increase skid resistance. Most of the time, a primer coat of initiated and promoted resin is applied on the concrete surface on which the overlay is to be placed. 

Premixed polymer concrete in which the aggregate and monomer (or oligomer) are mixed together in a wheelbarrow or a conventional concrete mixer and then directly applied to the concrete surface. This system results in a more cohesive and uniform mix and is more popularly used in practice [279]. 

A similar structure, but without direct contact between grains, is obtained with an additional amount of matrix. The structure as in Figure 6.6b may be obtained by mixing in an ordinary concrete mixer. However, because of equal size of grains, a large volume of the matrix is needed. 

Only fully inspected and properly maintained equipment should be allowed on site. This applies to power shovels, concrete mixers, supply trucks, cranes, materials handling devices, power tools, and other construction equipment. Great care must be taken to avoid collisions of mobile equipment with production equipment, pipelines, power lines, staged materials, or other objects or hazards. Specific measures include the use of permit programs, warning signs, personnel training, site reviews, and careful supervision. 

The polymer concrete samples were mixed according to the polymer concrete test method 1.0 of the Society of Plastic Industry (referred to as SPI 1.0) [1-6]. The samples were mixed using a conventional concrete mixer for a period of about 3 min, poured into moulds, vibrated and cured at room temperature according to ASTM C1479 [1-7]. There are no standard tests that are directly applicable to polymer concrete specimens therefore, ASTM standards developed for cement were adopted as applicable guidelines. 

In May, an accident in Montana caused by a tyre blowout on a concrete mixer tmck resulted in the death of two women. A lawsuit is being filed on behalf of the victims husbands seeking unspecified damages for negligence and product liability. The retreaded tyre was fitted on the steer axle of the truck and when the tyre blew, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it collided head-on with the women s car. The attorneys handling the case hope it will spur efforts nationwide to get retreaded tyres banned from use on commercial vehicles steer axles.

Admixtures of mineral oil and solid lubricant, Some of the common solid lubricants are graphite, mica, talc, sulfur, and asbestos fiber. These greases are invaluable in the lubrication of ill-fitting machine parts functioning under heavy or intermittent loads. Examples of this type are tractor-roller lubricants, lubricants for concrete mixers, (fitch-digging equipment, and railroad-car unloading devices.
