Compliance testing other tests

The double torsion test specimen has many advantages over other fracture toughness specimen geometries. Since it is a linear compliance test piece, the crack length is not required in the calculation. The crack propagates at constant velocity which is determined by the crosshead displacement rate. Several readings of the critical load required for crack propagation can be made on each specimen. 

Generally, a field bus protocol must be nonproprietary ( open ) so that different vendors of valve devices can design their bus interface to operate properly on the selected field bus network. Users demand that the devices be interoperable so that the device will work with other devices on the same segment or can be substituted with a device from an alternate manufacturer. International standardization of some of the protocols is currently underway (for example, IEC 61158) whereas others are sponsored by user groups or foundations that provide democratic upgrades to the standard and provide network compliance testing. 

One cannot fail to note the vast expansion of the collection in the last few decades. Surely this was not fueled by additional biologic assays. Underlying the initial growth phase was the widespread utilization of spectrophotometry for identification and assay. Separation science was the second phase in pharmaceutical industry control laboratories. As a corollary, USP and NF method selection moved in the same direction. Spectrophotometric identity tests and assays are more reliable, especially for compliance testing, when performed in the relative mode, which uses a reference standard, rather than the absolute mode, which is the norm in titrimetry. There is some residual difference of opinion in other countries on this point, but that is rendered moot by the widespread adoption of separation science by the pharmaceutical industry and, thus, by the compendia. It is a characteristic of chromatographic methods that a reference standard be required, sometimes more than one for a procedure. The accumulation of modern tests and assays results in 5 to 10 uses for many reference standards. 

There are many methods for metal determination (Standard Methods, 1998 section 3000). Some, for example as gravimetric, titrimetric or colorimetric methods, are most effective at high metal concentrations. Others, for example atomic absorption (AA), inductively coupled plasma (ICP) or inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICPMS) are far more sensitive. The latter are used for typical textile applications, such as compliance testing for water quality or detection of trace impurities in high-volume raw materials. 

These tests are calculated on a regular basis as well as each time the composition of the portfolio is altered, that is, each time assets are sold, purchased, or paid off ahead of their legal maturity date. If the test results fall below the required minimum, trading activity is restricted to only those trades that will improve the test results. Certain other compliance tests are viewed as more critical in terms of maintaining note repayment integrity therefore, if any of them are failed, the cash flows will be diverted from the normal priority of payments and begin sequentially paying off the notes based on seniority until the test results improve. While the license is in effect, the NRC has the right to make inspections of the facility, the byproduct material, and the areas where the byproduct material is in use or stored. These inspections have to be at reasonable hours, but they are almost always unannounced. The inspector also will normally ask to see records of such items as surveys, personnel exposure records, transfers and receipts of radioactive materials, waste disposal records, instrument calibrations, radiation safety committee minutes, documentation of any committee actions, and any other records relevant to compliance with the terms of the license and compliance with other parts of 10 CFR, such as 19 and 20. Failure to be in compliance can result in citations of various levels or of financial penalties. Enforcement will be discussed further later. The NRC can require tests to be done to show that the facility is being operated properly, such as asking for tests of the instruments used in monitoring the radiation levels, or... 

ISO Standards covering the determination of the basic properties of the FRP laminate are listed below (other tests are listed in Appendix 7.1). These cover the elastic, short term properties and may either be used for the testing of a new product or as part of the compliance testing process described in 7.2. 

X 2300 SS, 200 x 1400 SS, and 200 x 1400 A1 from Paynter (1973a). The Ka values are listed in Table 3.6. For a given APd the maximum deflection occurred for the 200 X 1400 A1 screen, as expected, since it is made of a more elastic material than the other two screens. When comparing meshes of the same metal, the 200 x 1400 SS had a smaller. Kd value than the 325 x 2300 SS mesh. This supports the trend that finer meshes experience more deflection, or compliance, than coarser meshes for the same pressure difference and same metal. Since fine mesh screens are generally desirable for LH2 systems, additional screen compliance tests with these fine mesh Dutch Twill screens would help to verify this trend. 

As the measurement of riboflavin fluorescence in the urine after oral dosage is very easy to perform, riboflavin is given in some studies to test the compliance of other oral drugs in patients (25). 

For such an estimation it is not sufficient to define compliance to the requirements of ISO standards 9000 series. It is necessary to take into account other requirements arising in the process of work with the particular test objects and the customer. 

In current industrial practice gas chromatographic analysis (glc) is used for quahty control. The impurities, mainly a small amount of water (by Kad-Fischer) and some organic trace constituents (by glc), are deterrnined quantitatively, and the balance to 100% is taken as the acetone content. Compliance to specified ranges of individual impurities can also be assured by this analysis. The gas chromatographic method is accurately correlated to any other tests specified for the assay of acetone in the product. Contract specification tests are performed on product to be shipped. Typical wet methods for the deterrnination of acetone are acidimetry (49), titration of the Hberated hydrochloric acid after treating the acetone with hydroxylamine hydrochloride and iodimetry (50), titrating the excess of iodine after treating the acetone with iodine and base (iodoform reaction).
